I love the Centro so much I have like 4 of them. I decided to try the 800w cuz I hate how the Centro's lighted keys die on me. Try texting in the dark and see my point. I love the form factor but decided I would try a nicely used 800 from ebay to see how I like it.

I went back and forth between the Pro and the 800 but when I read that the keyboard was the same as the Centro; that was a deal breaker for me.

I really want a Treo with the stamina of my OLD trusty 650 (still working) but smaller. Got my hubby a new HTC back in Nov., and it died (Sprint said it had water damage... right) so I pulled out the ancient 650 that he didn't want before and now he uses it and loves it!

Can someone tell me if my programs from my Centro will work on the 800? I think I know the answer, but I can hope.

I tried the Pixi but could not get the hang of all of those swipes and stuff and missing calls because they went to VM since I couldn't swipe and click fast enough, so I gave it to my teen (who loves it) and went back to the Centro.

Anyway, if it doesn't work out I lost my $34.95 windows investment, but will still have the Centro to go back to.

    Well.... wish me luck!

There are a few alternatives to apps. Theres a thread in here somewhere giving you some details on Windows apps that = Palm Apps.

I just moved from a centro to 800 myself. they keyboard on the 800 is awesome. I do miss Chattermail though... and Butler was good..

    but theres options out there.

I'm getting cold feet, all be it too late. I got so caught up reading reviews that I forgot to go to Amazon.com (where I normally go to for user reviews) and the 800w did not fair that well. The Pro seems to have done better there, but also had some unhappy people.

We will see when my new tech toy gets here I guess. Maybe I'll get a good unit. -lol

The thing with these Palm phones, especially Windows versions, is that you get a feature, but lose another..

The phone works well for me for what i need it to : Emails, texts, calendar and phone of course. Once youve tweaked it to where you want it to be, you should be fine..

My thing is that i keep coming across so many apps that i constantly want to give my today screen a makeover.....

    lol

I was wondering about the screensaver ability too. You would think there is a work around by now.

Today I found out that you cannot attach pics in the sms program. you have to download picturemail and then send it as a link.

I found the software Styletap which is supposed to let you use OS programs, but I'm reading that that it doesn't work with all programs. And for $45, it should work inclusively. lol
