Just a few words of love for the Treo Pro.

I honestly think this phone is better than the Pre. I picked up a Pre today in Best Buy and the design is terrible. The screen was nice (with it's touch-screen and all) but the Palm Pro isn't far behind. The Pro keyboard wins. I also think it's the perfect size.

Good job Palm. I wish there were more Pro users/supporters.

Funny enough, I was holding my comments on the pre until I spent a lot of time with one. That was this weekend.

I don't get it... I agree, the keyboard is too small... then again, the kb on the pro is a bit too small at times as well... when I'm sending tons of email during the day, I feel it. I'm on my BB then switch over to my pro, I'm hurting. After a bit I get used to the pro again...

Far as everything else with the pre, I don't care either way... but I don't really care for the candy interface... nowadays it seems if you put sugar on a turd, people will still eat it... and be happy.

I'm holding out until something better comes along... not sure what that might be... I was thinking the htc touch pro2... but I'm not sure I want to mess with a HTC device...

I have had my Treo Pro for about a week now and love it. I like the combination of touchscreen and a physical keyboard. I've had the Treo 800w, HTC Touch Diamond, Moto Q and several other phones and this one beats them all.

Went from a 800w to the Pre and I can't say I miss too much about WM. The webos interface is simply light years ahead of WM 6.1 imo. I've seen those leaked vids of WM 6.5 and it looks promising, but we'll see once those devices are finally released. I played with the Pro and I agree the keyboard is better and the build quality is much more sturdy. The Pre is more plasticy feel and overall feels a lot more fragile. I also miss all the apps on WM too since the App catalog hasn't been opened yet. But overall, I can't say I miss WM too much. Webos is definitely by far better IMO...

Nothing else offers the flexibility and functionality of WM at the moment. I think Android will catch up and surpass it in time, but for now, WM is the only choice for me, and the Treo Pro is the only phone.

Only wish the Treo Pro had the same size kb of the blackberry 8900 and I would settle for good!

Yes, the KB is a step back from the 650/700/800w series, but it is still usable.

I think the size is perfect for my small girly hands I can not go with a Web OS based device, because I am in the Navy, and often away from any cell signal or wifi.... but I still need and use the pda and multimedia functions. If all my pda based apps were all on the web, I'd be SOL. Plus I like tweaking. Windows Mobile is very powerful if you are willing to tweak it yourself. I agree it lacks a shiny interface though... but that's part of the advantage.. I can make it what I want. I'm not too sure how customizable the Pre is wrt looks and interface etc.

I'm also a fan of the wide range of apps available for WM 6.1

I still use PDANet and tether with my laptop. The biggest selling point on the Pro was the fact that I got to keep my SERO plan. 28.17 every month, including tax, is unbeatable.

You dont pay another $7 for insurance? Thats dangerous on a PDA phone.

rxblitzr, how do you like the plastic keyboard? You sure you like the pro 100% ?

I am on the edge of getting a HTC Touch Pro 2.
    Dell x51v → Motorola Q (Verizon) → Mogul → 800w → Treo Pro → Touch Pro 2 (SERO) → HTC EVO 3D → HTC EVO 4G LTE → HTC One S → Nexus 4

Stopped my insurance long ago (early 2000 or maybe 2001). Had insurance, lost a phone... for the time I had the phone and the deductible, I figured out I lost money. Plus, I don't tend to lose or damage phones. The amount of money I've saved over the years by not having insurance, I could buy several pda phones.

Lot of us are... once I seen the size of the Pro2, I was 80% sure I'd get the phone. I'll wait for sprint reviews and Guinea Pigs first though.

Screen size and keyboard on the pro2 are marvelous. If battery holds, it could be the windows device everyone wants...

I simply can't say I feel the Treo 800w is a fair means to assess WM 6.1. That device does not represent anywhere near as good a WM 6.1 implementation as other devices such as the Treo Pro.

I had all kinds of bad thoughts about WM 6.1 till I spent a good amount of time with something other than the 800w.

And I'm using WM 6.5 (pre-release version) now and it is an improvement, but a long time with the 800w can leave you with a tainted impression.

Glad I dumped all those special coverage plans. The math works against me and if I had it to do again I'd have never ever gotten it for any device.
