I'm trying to set up my new Treo Pro to sync with Active Sync over Bluetooth and having issues. I'm told by the Active Sync help that the first step is to set up a Bluetooth COM port for the communication to occur over.

My PC and device have successfully paired. Then, on my Treo Pro, when I try to set up a COM port I have the choices of COM ports 0 thru 9. On the PC's Active Sync Connections setting I have the choice of COM ports 1, 3, 6, 7, 10-14, 20. So my potential overlap of COM ports b/w both devices are ports 1, 3, 6, and 7.

The issue is when I choose create a COM port on the Treo Pro, it is only successful for those ports that are NOT available in Active Sync. When I try to set up a COM port on the Treo on ports 0, 2, 4, 5, 8, or 9, it works, but does me no good b/c those ports are not an option on the PC. When I try to set up a port on 1, 3, 6, or 7, the Treo gives the following message on the Treo:

"The COM port could not be created. Please check your settings and try again."

I'm stuck since I'm not able to configure a shared COM port on both devices.

Any advice?
