If you ask some T-mobile employee, they got the Touch Pro 2 already. The guy look it up on the screen and Aug 12 launch. Talk about going from 0 to 100 mph in 1 sec.

He show me another new HTC phone that run on google. Doing some research and its the MyTouch 3G.

OK, Palm. Lets get going here beside the Pre.

I saw on the video that this Touch Pro 2 phone can do unlimited # of conference call. I thought 3 way calling is a hardware limit? I wonder any other phone does that.

It has dual noise cancelling mic and dual speaker.

Not really... sorry... and I guess the keyboard is the same as well? lol

But using your definition, you could say that all phones are the same... lol

Does not matter either way... apples to apples, or apples to oranges... whatever...

stop getting so defensive, we are all adults here, the point i was making is its not worth the money to upgrade since all the important hardware like processor and ram are the same it is not even an upgrade not worth the money touch pro 3 might be a different story

The phones are NOT the same. To someone who wants to the larger keyboard, extra screenspace, or better mic/speakerphone the phones won't be the same.

Most of these phones have the SAME internals (okay, not exactly the same/but same in regards of function)... it is like comparing an intel chip to amd running Microsoft Word... do you really see the extra performance? No... we are talking outside hardware...

IMO, the phones are very different... that is my opinion... much different than many of the other pundits, but my opinion nevertheless.

If they were the same, I'd go get a touch pro RIGHT NOW. But they are not the same.

I got your point, and don't agree.

I'll digress and give you and any other pundit the last word on the issue... not that important anyway...

    Sincerely,

    The Defensive Adult

Tmobile is rather surprising, sometimes. It would be nice to see palm release something outside of the Pre.... I think many of us are waiting for the Palm Pro form with the software of the pre....

Yes, the pro2 is going to be a boon for those who need a great business phone... can't say I need to often conference call... although, it will be nice to plug the phone into the wall and use the conference call feature, if it is nice enough. I can use my BT headset, but I often leave that in the car.

Perhaps a bit, but at this point I would consider that a good sign. It just means that it does everything I need, and I have it configured exactly how I want it, so there's nothing left to tweak...

Watching what's going on with the Pre, I have a whole new appreciation for the Treo Pro.

But I think my days with Windows Mobile are numbered, I don't think 6.5 is going to do it for me, perhaps not even WM7 since most of the apps will be stuck with the older UI elements (circa PPC 2002) until they are rewritten. I never thought I'd say it, but I'm tempted by the iPhone 3GS, if it only had multitasking I might be able to live with the virtual keyboard. The WebOS platform is promising, but I'd rather have a different form factor and I would wait until the app base is populated and the bugs are shaken out.

    Also check out , IMHO.

Just about every software difference is already available on the Touch Pro and the Touch Pro 2’s hardware differences are not enough to make me want a TP 2. It does not even have a flash on the camera. I use my flash as a flashlight all the time. And they say the TP2 gets WORSE battery life. I don’t know if that’s because the TP2 battery was not conditioned yet or what, but with that bigger battery in a newer device I expected better battery life out the box. I think the reviewer tried to put a nice spin on it, but to me the TP2 is not worth moving from the Touch Pro for. Unless you really need the improved speakerphone. In my car I use the Moto T505, which works great for speaker calls. So I don’t need a speakerphone upgrade.

And I think the TP2 will be found to do worse in processor benchmarks because of having to manage that larger screen. Just like the CDMA Treo Pro does better than the Touch Pro in processor benchmarks.

Only way I'll get a Touch Pro 2 is if my Touch Pro breaks.

I'm holding out for something like a successor to the TG01, or maybe I'll get a TG01 if Sprint carries it . (That is, if Sprint leaves the GPS able to work stand alone and assisted.)

To me, bigger screen means its different. Keyboard is different. Finally a center screen with nice keyboard.

Watching the video, it say the processor is actually a older version of whats currently on. Post # 42 that confirm the older model number. Battery life is not that great.

I did say before that I am tired of flipping screen and thats why I go to the 800w then the Treo Pro.

Lets say if the upgrade or if the buying is the same price, would you get the 2 or 1? See, you go for the 2 right? So its worth the upgrade. :-)

If I didn't already have a Touch Pro and was looking to buy one I'd probably just wait for the Touch Pro 2 and get it. It is an upgrade, but a rather weak one. As I said, if my Touch Pro broke, I'd probably get a Touch Pro 2, but otherwise I probably won't get a Touch Pro 2 at all and will just continue with my Touch Pro.

HTC has a little too much of the WM space for their own good at the moment. They're making lackluster "upgrades". Once the TG01 hits the USA maybe then HTC will step up their game a bit.

I tell people all the time to get the Touch Pro 2 instead of the Touch Pro. I'm sure things like Manila 2.5 will port to the Touch Pro 2 before it has a decent VGA port working on the Touch Pro, if the Touch Pro gets Manila 2.5 at all.

Moving from the Touch Pro to the Touch Pro 2 is not "worth" the upgrade if nothing is wrong with my Touch Pro, in my opinion.

And I really think people are going to miss that navigation button which the Touch Pro 2 does not have.

If the Touch Pro 2 had a snapdragon inside, oh yea, I'd upgrade to it. After seeing how it does on the market for 30-90 days, that is IF it had a snapdragon. Not really concerned about price, if it had what I want I'd get it. For now, the Touch Pro does well, actually does great for me.

In that case, some might consider it a downgrade....

Either way, I can't wait to see how many people move to the TP2... well, if we ever have confirmation that sprint will carry it.... or an official date rather....

I'm still holding out hope for an update to the treo pro.... lol

I copy this below posted by someone from somewhere and it is dated July 12.

So take it with one milkshake and 2 grain of salt, OK?

It would be great if someone working at Sprint can confirm.

At this point, I think bestbuy (and others) put out fake information... that or people lie like hell.... but I'd rather think it is fake information. Wish I had a dollar for every "best buy" rumor I've heard over the last 8 months...

Well the rumors about the Treo Pro release date eventually were correct .

Whenever Sprint carries something, Canadian CDMA carrier Telus usually gets it very shortly afterward. Telus is slated to release the Touch Pro 2 this month, so a Sprint version will come either this month or very shortly afterward.

I did google search and Telus is CDMA, like Sprint.

So that is good news. I believe there is a Sprint roadmap that show it coming also.

So we will get it soon.

It remind me of this song: Soon and very soon, we are gonna see the king ... 3x chorus
    Dell x51v → Motorola Q (Verizon) → Mogul → 800w → Treo Pro → Touch Pro 2 (SERO) → HTC EVO 3D → HTC EVO 4G LTE → HTC One S → Nexus 4

Uh, I don't think a Touch Pro 2 is comparable to the context of the song .

I tend to think of the wait for a new smart phone as the Smurfs all walking and continually asking each other, "is it much further"..."not far now"... .

I still dont know if I want to get that HTC device.

Treo Pro still can do what I want.

Is there any more news on any upcoming Palm WM device?
