Has anyone noticed the price for the treo pro is trending upward? I thought with all the hype about the pre, the prices would be coming down.

You can actually get the GSM model cheaper at palm.com than any other place including ebay or Dell.com.

You are right... glad I got mine weeks ago.

You might still be able to catch one at auction around 180 to 200... that is how I got mine... late night bidding.

The same people who sell the phone at "buy me now" prices, also sell on auction for cheaper.

Could the rise in price be because now the business users now realize the Pre is not for them?

Could be... I think the treo hit bottom due to the pre's release.

I think many consumers are also realizing the pre is not for them... let sprint tell it, the pre is in every household in America... I've not seen it yet. When the iphone hit, I seen one of those out and about. I was all over DC today without one sighting of the pre. lol

Seriously, the pre works for some but business users will wait for a couple of issues with the pre to resolve... while I'm sure palm is working to correct. When they are corrected is another matter, we will see.

Just got a brand new Sprint Treo Pro for $185 yesterday off craigslist here in NYC. Amazing little whipper-snapper. I can finally put my 3 yr old 700Wx to rest a bit. Best of all my ancient plan lives on.

$175 off of CL brand new in Philly. Though the lack of control button and cut and paste being a bit of a pain isn't making me too happy at the moment.
Pixi: Sold. Pre: Passed off to another rep. Touchpad: Just a toy until Cloud syncing arrives, and a better doc editor.

Prices seemed to increase a little due to the Pre not living up to the hype. I have to admit this Treo is pretty damn solid. Probably more stable than the Pre from what I'm reading hence the Pro price increase. Plus 1.04 is out. Most of us picked up the 1.03's cheap because at the time rumors claimed Sprint and Palm would not warranty it. I got mine for $178 and change shipped free to my house.
    I've been a happy since.

I think it was the flood of 1.03 that some dealers probably got very cheap. If a few thousand, or even upper hundreds, of those were in ebay dealer hands the first couple fo weeks and they had bought them for $150 or so and had good supply relative to demand, it woudl have depressed ebay prices.
