    Update 2: It's going! (see attachment) There's a progress bar that's going on my phone as well.

    Update 3: The update finished, now it's going through first time setup stuff, like it's brand new. (see 2nd attachment too)

    Final update: Houston, we have 1.04!!!

    Amazing! Thank you so much for posting this!

    Huh, interesting. Glad it worked. Guess this lends credence to the idea that this doesn't touch the radio firmware, just a recompiled core OS.

    Thanks a lot! We had people going to the stores calling sprint, going back to the stores, and getting endless-arounds.

    Looks like the end of a long nightmare

    Figures I just got a new 1.04 phone from a 1.03 after a defective unit exchange YESTERDAY Oh well, glade the rest of you got ti squared away. The only major difference I noticed (other than my new keyboard, buttons, stylus and batt door fitment being 100% better) is the memory. Seems like it has a little more usable memory at any given time, and it doesn't "loose" anywhere near as much throughout the day. The most I have every "lost" while no programs are running, is having 57% left. With 1.03, I was seeing some CRAZY high numbers sometimes.

    Yeah, I thought I'd try Malatesta's advice, but they couldn't find the directory. Luckily, one of the other techs showed up and he had the update sitting on his personal desktop. He flashed his phone earlier, but didn't know what exactly it was he was flashing. He just knew it was some kind of update from palm. He probably just rewrote 1.4 on top of the existing 1.4. I asked if I could have a copy, he asked if I had a thumb drive! Ran to my car, and thank God I had an old 2GB drive in my ash tray.

    fyi for everyone.... if you've done the "missed call" fix while you where running 1.03.... you dont have to do it again. setting still stuck

    The big issue with 1.03 on AllTel was the memory. No matter what it would only ever show Apx. 20MB available for running Programs. As a result it would auto shut down programs from time to time. However, after updating to this ROM, that has been boosted to 40+MB

    Finally, the CDMA Treo Pro will have custom ROMs .

    All the ROM chefs need to do is make their .nbh files and replace it with the one provided for the 1.04 update. And I'm sure they might offer the good old PagePool_Changer.exe file to adjust pagepool before flashing and then those who want it will have even more free Program Memory if they desire. But smaller pagepool usually means a slower device. I'm sure the ROM chefs will clear out some programs that eat too much Program Memory. And there will even be Kitchens for people to build their own ROMs I'm sure.

    You guys should make copies galore of that updater. And it's already gone over the limit at RapidShare:
    This file is neither allocated to a Premium Account, or a Collector's Account, and can therefore only be downloaded 10 times.

    This limit is reached.

    To download this file, the uploader either needs to transfer this file into his/her Collector's Account, or upload the file again. The file can later be moved to a Collector's Account. The uploader just needs to click the delete link of the file to get further information.
    Well, I have to thank Palm (or Sprint) for finally tossing out the bone .

    Just downloaded and executed the update to 1.04. Did a level 1 Sprite Restore and resync'd my contacts from Google Sync. So far everything looks to be working fine....

    For an 84MB file I hope it did something. Nothing noticeable has changed. We now need a list of what changed.
    ATT History- From 1997-2001-> Nokia 6362->Motorola StarTac->Nokia 8260.

    Nextel History From 2001-2004-> Motorola i1000-> Motorola i90c-> Motorola i95cl-> Motorola i730->Motorola i850.

    Sprint History From 2005 - Currently->Sanyo 5500-> Sanyo 5600-> Sanyo-> 7400->Sanyo 8300->Sanyo->7500-> Sanyo 9000->Sanyo 8400->Sanyo M1->PPC-6700->Treo 700wx->PPC-6800(Mogul)-> Motorola Q9C-> Treo 800w-> Curve->Treo 800w->Touch Pro->Treo Pro> Curve "M"->HTC Hero.

    Is there any reason to worry about whether you purchase a 1.03 or 1.04 version phone anymore? I am about to purchase one on ebay and from what I can tell, the ones that don't say what version they are (which means I assume they are 1.03) are a bit cheaper.

    what's the difference between 1.03 and 1.04?

    Sorry to say my Treo was down to 10MB of usable RAM this morning. Opera screamed at me to close tabs, which I did. Even closed Opera and everything else but the Treo stayed at 10MB usable program Ram. Soft Reset bummed it back up to 30MB (after loading SPB Mobile Shell 3.x).

    I never had this issue on my GSM Treo Pro

    I miss the old Pocket PC days where you can slide the bar to say how much you want to devote to running programs ver storage. I show over 250MB Free for Storage and only 30 for running? ARGH.

    Not trying to hijack this thread. Just think/thought this is the main point of this update. Maybe the STP will have better luck?
