I have had my 800w for abut five six screen months, everything seemed great until a couple months ago. The first issue I was having was my phone not syncing, when I attempt to sync I get a dialog box saying that the operation could not be completed. I preformed a hard reset on the phone a couple weeks ago and it seemed to do the trick one time, but when I tired the second time the phone did not sync. The second issue I am having is that, a white light is temperately visible when I press the end button to turn on the the screenIf you can help with this situation your assistants is greatly appreciated.

For your ActiveSync problem, try this.

Try installing this for the sync issue. I don't quite understand the second issue.

I'm on Treo 800 number 4 and cannot sync to Outlook correctly to any of them. Tried all the fixes. It syncs what it wants but never includes the calendar or contacts. My Touch Pro and Treo 700wx sync just fine everytime. I have given up on syncing the 800. I use Dashwire as my back up program on my 800.

With both my old 800ws, they'd stop working with ActiveSync at times and I would have to use this method to get it working again. That method worked better and for longer for me than other methods. With both Touch Pros I've owned, ActiveSync just worked and always worked. I used to once beleive the claims that ActiveSync 4.5 is super buggy and problematic, but since using it with my Touch Pro I've found ActiveSync to be rather stable.

And then there was the issue of not being able to do soft resets while on a PC USB cable with the 800w .

I have long given up AS with the 800. I have been the author to many thread about this subject since last July. I am convinced its the phone. I can take my entire phone collection, connect each one and perform AS. The 800 will not sync in fact at times I get the "Not Connected" screen. I will never sell this phone to any person. I don't hate anyone enough to have them go through these issues. When the time comes I will post a video of my car running over it.

Yeah, I haven't had syncing issues since about 2005. Used XP and W7 with no problems. In this case, it's probably the microUSB connector setup (which is a bit unusual on the 800w) that is causing some issues with people, not AS itself.

I must be lucky too. My 800w syncs flawlessly OTA with Google and when I plug it in to activesync. Now my old 700w made me want to pull my hair out.
