Here's a couple of teaser shots of what I worked on last night, and what's currently running on my Sprint Treo Pro, heheh...

(Pay close attention to the next shot)

    Description:
These are the familiar Palm Speed Dial & Dial Lookup plugins that you know and love, but now running on your Treo Pro! And with these installed, you also get back the letter-based quick keys, instead of just numbers.

    Install:
    1) Install PalmSpeedDialLookup.CAB to your device (not Storage Card)
    2) Soft-Reset

    Usage:
By default, the installation disables the Wireless today plugin and enables the Speed Dial/Dial Lookup plugins. The Speed Dial plugin will not show up on the today screen until you add a speed dial. To do this, go to:
Start -> Settings -> Today -> Items, highlight Speed Dial, tap on Options
The "Hide Lookup Field" feature still works, but you need to use the DialLookupField toggle (installed under Programs) to make it hidden or visible.

    Notes:
    - To use this with RealVGA, see this post.
    - If you still want the Wireless today plugin, you can go back and reenable it under the today plugin settings.
    - The Active Call plugin is not included in this. What I posted seems to integrate cleanly with the Treo Pro and didn't want to push my luck, lol.
    - This does work with HideCarrier posted here.
    - The bluetooth and ICS icons on the carrier line will launch the settings, but they do not change color/icon to reflect the current state.
    - The "Show voice mail buttons" option obviously does not work because the Active Call plugin was not integrated.
    - If you disable the Dial Lookup plugin, the quickkey speedials will no longer work.
    - If your carrier is not set correctly, you can use a registry editor to modify it, for example:
    HKLM\System\State\Phone\Current Operator Name = "Alltel"

I don't have it on the Treo Pro--which is what is being discussed here, not the 800w.

what does this have to do with anything? can't we just keep this on topic?

Hold the phone! I cannot believe it. I am so speachless that I'm just going to hit the "Thanks" button as many times as it will let me.

Oh, and to keep on topic as requested. I must have the cab file for this because I could not live without it.

I figured as long as I was creating some phoney contacts, might as well make it interesting...

Yeah 'bout that, I had the last spot reserved for a redhead and was trying to find a suitable candidate but apparently my research was taking too long and my girlfriend started giving me "the look" (so I quickly settled on Bart)

I created a new thread so I wouldn't have to threadjack Ebag's previous work and so I could control the first post. More to come...

OK you are so my new hero. I miss these from the Treo 750V.

The timing is perfect my GSM Treo Pro just arrived today and I am loving it. Will this work on GSM or CDMA Treo Pro?

    Can't wait...

    Thanks

It's not quite ready yet. I ended up trying a number of things to get it to work, now I have to go back and figure out what I did to get it working.

Also, there are a couple of minor issues, such as getting the bluetooth icon to launch settings and possibly change color etc. And I'll need a few volunteers to help test this first before I let it out, today plugins can lock up your system bad if they aren't working right.

It works on a Sprint Treo Pro (CDMA) currently, not sure yet about the GSM Treo Pro. Only one way to find out...
