There aren't too many things I dislike about my Treo 800w. But a few things i hate are:
    The Micro Usb Jack
I have to carry two headsets around at all times. My mp3 headphones (3.5mm) and my Treo 800w headset which is very bulky

    The Battery Life
It does not last long enough as i would wwant. With my Dash i would be able to listen to music and be on the internet for a full day.

The Volume on The Treo 800w (ugh which i hate the most)
When i stream from youtube play, I have to hold the phone to my ear to hear it. Which means i can't watch the video at the same time!

I love my Treo 800w. But these 3 things are very essential to me. ALl things that the Treo Pro has seemed to fix. I mean, we have to tweak our Treo 800w's just to get it to be a normal phone, such as the volume tweak, tweak our resolution to 96pdi.

The Treo Pro is BLACK! Such a nice color. Way better than our Treo 800w blue. -.-
You can listen to music on the Treo Pro while charging! Although i hear the Treo Pro has very cheap feelings buttons. But it seems to be such a good phone. I have had my Treo 800w for a little over a month, so I'm void for the return and exchange. I'm gonna save up for the Treo Pro and hopefully get it.

    I have a few questions:
Does the Treo Pro have a native YouTube such as the Diamond or Touch Pro?
Also does it have HTC Streaming Media to watch YouTube Mobile?
And will it be updated for WIndows Mobile 6.5?
How much would it cost me to upgrade from my Treo 800w with Sprint?
    Or EBAY?

Your first 3 questions are No. For your last Ebay the 800 and hope for $125-150 depending on shape then purchase a Treo Pro for around $200-225. Your out of pocket may only be $60-100. Not bad if you ask me.

I have a Touch Pro (also an 800 and Centro) and it has that amazing YouTube app (even my Centro has one) and I am waiting for MightyROM's 6.5 Windows and Touch Pro 2 UI. I keep checking PPCgeeks every hour as he also mentioned there is even more included that will be a surprise.

I wanted a Treo Pro but people have been returning it due to reception and missed calls. I think this is more important that than anything. Just look at Cody's returning thread. Many are also dumping. The price of a Treo Pro has suffered because of this. If you do decide to move froward don't forget to ask for versio 1.04. Many have ben caught with .03 and Palm is not honoring warranty claims for this one.

If I were you I'd pass on the Treo Pro and get a Touch Pro. It seems what you want is found in that device. I know, I know the slider form factor is a problem for most (I being one of them). However its easily adaptable. Keep the 800 get a Centro or Touch Pro and rotate them if you can afford to.

    Thank you for the advice.
Still debating on what to do though. HTC devices are awesome. But the Touch Pro is just simply not a phone for me. My bro has a Diamond and i hate the feel of it.
    The Treo Pro seems awesome.
But the reception would affect internet right?
Missing calls is no big deal for me. I dont really call much.

And what do you mean by "dumping"?

I just like the interface the Treo Pro has. And its stand alone GPS. The 3.5 mm jack is what really bought me.
Basically i see the Treo Pro as my Treo 800 but "fixed" as in having what i wanted in my 800w.

    Thats what i want.

I agree, the Diamond is pretty crappy. Sounds like the Treo Pro is for you. Snatch one up in a few weeks when they are well under $200 new on Ebay.

The Sprint Treo Pro comes with a You Tube app. It also comes with Sprite back up. I got mine for $225 on Ebay, but I've heard of others who have paid less.

Personally, I am waiting for the Touch Pro 2 to arrive in the US, at which point I plan on abandoning my 800w.

Cody was one person and even admitted that "maybe" he could have had a bad device. But he did not swap... seems like a wash to me...

So far no big issues on reception... seems that the bars are not correct but the reception is fine.

I think reception is fine on the treo pro... vibrant red is simply out spewing his touch pro crap again... which is getting much too old...

Anyway, the 1.03 is an issue... but there was a person on sprint users who claims that he took his treo pro 1.03 into sprint and they upgraded it to 1.04... don't know if that is true or not (even if true, Palm warranty may not cover you... if you don't have sprint insurance). The 1.03 issue is all I'm waiting for at this point... get a seller on ebay who will commit to sending a 1.04, have not found one yet.

Reception is a non-issue... missed calls I'm not too concerned, I'm thinking (hoping) that it is an issue with people playing with the devices, but I'll see.

Someone has to keep you in check with all the misinformation you are putting out.

Your Touch pro antics have just about run their course... LONG ago.

Actually, I have many phones... Q9C is one... and a good one... but I don't feel the need to spew it over every thread.

I'll deal with the first two questions as one. If you check the various appropriate forums (here, wmexperts, xda-developers, ppcgeeks, etc.), Skyfire is supposed to be good with Youtube & there are freeware apps.

Most recent reports indicate the Treo Pro probably will be one of the devices that can be updated to WinMo 6.5, the Sprint version taking less of a performance hit. But, other than a little eye candy, there doesn't seem to be much of a reason to make our phones take that performance hit.

New Sprint customers can get the Pro for $199 with a 2 year contract & after a $100 mail-in rebate. Since mine's a GSM version, I can't tell you what the upgrade fee might be.

One of the other posters pointed to another thread about a poster returning his because of reception issues, citing several other messages in the thread as lots of people returning them for the same reason. There are a few in that thread with issues (3 or 4?). If you look at the majority of the Sprint Treo Pro threads, most people are pretty happy with it. And, living in a bad reception area, I can tell you the GSM version beats any other phone I've owned for reception.

Yeah because what I say is misinformation. There is no YouTube app, WM 6.5 is not coming for the Touch Pro and nobody has complained about Treo Pro reception ever. Maybe I should get a Q9C and brick it up with you. We can change the World and show people pocket ripping devices are the new small.

Actually it's just a shortcut to open YouTube in Kinoma FreePlay. I'm one of the few people it seems that actually uses IE 6, and it plays YouTube right in it. I tried downloading the mobile app they suggest on their site, but didn't care for it, although I didn't give it much of a chance, so maybe I'll give it another shot. Okay gave it a more fair shot and actually it's pretty nice!

WinMo 9.5 will come one way or another from xda, and it will be better than anything htc/palm will release.

not all manna falls from XDA and so far in the 7 months it has been out there have been no custom ROMs for the Treo Pro (GSM) so the development for the CDMA version is not looking to hot at the moment. Can't rule it out but it not something to bet on in the short term.

Difference between can and will though. Sure, even the a Treo 750 can run WM6.5 so on the hardware end, Treo Pro is fine.

However, there is no evidence that the Treo Pro is slated to get WM6.5. Lots of factors involved (sales numbers, cost, if Sprint wants it, time-frame for Treo Pro replacement, etc.).

For the OP: no, as of now don't bet on WM6.5 for the Treo Pro in any form. But pay attention to the forums as things can change.

(Personally, I think it's a bad idea to buy a device in anticipation of it getting updated. Buy it because you like it now, not because of what it may become.)

    Thank you guys!
Well im pretty sure i will be getting a Treo Pro. Not sure when though, if I had just decided these 4 days ago I could've switched from my Treo 800w to Treo Pro without a problem! But now I've had my Treo 800w for 34 days, and void for the exchange policy, can any body give me advice how to get a Treo Pro from Sprint without the hassle?
How much would the upgrade cost from 800w to Treo Pro?

Gotta admit, the Treo Pro is the 800w fixed.
Wish the would've came out with the Treo Pro instead.
But what is done is done.
Will try to get one soon and tell you all how the switch feels.

You could always TRY for an extension by calling sprint... see if retentions will allow you to send the phone back for a treo pro... a straight swap. Might lose 15 minutes of time, but what if it works?

Outside of that, eBay might be your best option... sell the 800 then get a pro... all from ebay.

By extension you mean extending the 30 day return and exchange?
Or extending the contract with Sprint?

Extending your contract with Sprint. Getting more days added to the 30 day policy is almost impossible. If you get it in writing you may have a shot.

What Theo is suggesting is call Retentions and negotiate your position. The 800 isn't working out, you need a more reliable device, etc. Just give them what you are experiencing. They may exchange it or may not. Depends if you get a rep that wants to help. Last year I negotiated a Treo 800 for $199 when I was not eligible for rebates. I had a good position due to Mogul issues. Doesn't hurt to ask.

Seems like it would be easier to get one through ebay or craigslist. You can get one through either for pretty close to $200.

That's probably the best advice I've seen here. It ought to be a sticky at the top of every forum section. It'd certainly eliminate a bunch of headaches & heartaches.
