i didn't want to post this too early in the life of the sprint treo pro, but i think now is a good time. with it being two weeks for most of us now, the battery has been broken in and we know how long the batter is lasting us. i think now we can actually give this a good test.

the battery and preformance hack has worked good for many of the Q, mogul, diamond, touch pro, ect users for over a year now. over 6000 downloads on ppcgeeks. will it work for the treo pro?

    get cab file here

remember, dont give me too much credit, i didn't invent this, i just cabed it up for easy install and shared with others.

sorry, this is just a registry edit like the others found here... http://discussion.treocentral.com/tr...cab-style.html i just posted it here to get it's own discussion and some new attention.

all you have to do put the cab file on your device, install it, wait 60 seconds and softreset.

only time will tell if you got any improvments or not. really, it's not going to be any worse than it is now, the question is really how much better it got.

it is totally uninstallable if you dont like it or think it given you some kind of problem.

CodyPPC, I have MemMaid for performance, is it possible to get a CAB of just the battery, if it works on the GTP?

    Thanks Much

    Thank you very much..

this should should work fine for the gsm treo pro as well.

this is the same thing the q users were using. actually where I got it.

as for the same as what was used for the 800w? I don't know. send me a link to the 800w vesion and i'll check it out. was it one that I posted? hmmm.

as for the memmaid users... don't worry. install the cab, wait 60 seconds, softreset. then go in to memmaid and check for anything you may want to change. shouldn't have any conflict.

Had the performance tweaks for last 24 hrs. All I can say is that there's no change in speed or responsiveness but there's a change with free memory - 2 or 3 mb less than normal.
Power saving tweaks I didn't apply since I'm satisfied with battery life as it is.

But could codyPPC be so kind to tell us, what the electric current is after we install the hack?

My Treo Pro now is 170~230mA with no press, click and programs running.

I am going to say that yes it does improve battery life. I had an usual day (web browsing, E-mail, SMS, phone calls) plus as an extra I had a 45 minute conversation with an "old" friend and the battery level is at 41%; usually it is at 25-35% level on a normal day at this time, without the extra phone call..

I believe it consumes less power while the phone is on standby but does not affect it as much while being used for voice or data. I will keep checking and see if I can add anything more.

I didn't notice anything different about the performance but I was not looking for anything either.

    Thank you codyPPC

I download and install the .cab file, but nothing happened.
Even that i have not find in the button setting where a "press" but not "press and hold" is......
<<Push Side Button = allows you to asign the side button to a "Press" and not just press and hold. >>
