well, i have been gone for a while, but i'm back now. all my old apps are not working on the newer 320x320 devices (of course). i need to get them updated.

Questions... is the the billboard version that supports the 320 devices? http://discussion.treocentral.com/1245813-post18.html
if so, is it a one version for all devices or did z get ride of the old 240 version?

whats up with mort? what's changed in the newer versions? what extra stuff can we do? can we access/call on the gps?

    Thanks guys, Cody

Yeah, that's the correct post. Just download Billboard.zip and replace the old Billboard.dll with the new one. Yup, there is only one DLL that supports the various resolutions.

For the icons, it depends if you are using RealVGA or not.

With RealVGA in 96DPI mode, the existing icons should work 16x16 fine.

With the default 128DPI mode, your bitmaps should be 24x21 (24 wide, 21 high). And yes, they arbitrarily changed the aspect ratio for today plugin bitmaps on the 800w, go figure...

    thanks zbop.

question, why did you choose bitmap for the icons? bitmaps suck.

it is really hard tring to find bitmap icons that are transparent. it is a near impossible to convert them and a pain in the but changing them manually.

i wish we could have just used png.

Lol, sorry Cody. Png should work, so should jpg and gif. I remember testing a few different formats, but not extensively. I simply call the WM API function to load the image, so as long as the system dlls support that format, it should work.

Just FYI, I avoided the .ico format because I thought it was too much of a pain for you guys to build dlls/resource packs.

Make sure you use a tool like IcoFX when resizing, otherwise it will mess up the transparency.
