    jimh2000,

We just heard that your phone can do Voice AND Data at the same time. Something that is technically possible but has never been implemented on Sprint's network.

Care to verify? Just call someone and see if you can surf the internet....

If jim says yes, that helps answer the similar question raised about the Pre.

Bummer on the program memory. I'm usually only around 10-20 MB free, so I don't think the Pro would work for my use. Would be just fine for say the Mrs on the other hand.

    Mine is

As far as I know, its not even technically possible on Sprint's network. It's not capable on EVDO without using VOIP for the voice. Sprint had originally been planning on moving to EVDV which did have this capability, but then decided to go with WiMax as their future standard instead. Rev A improves bandwidth (with a greater improvement in upstream bandwidth) but doesn't allow that as far as I know.

    I could be wrong, though.

You and I will own HTC devices. I may even buy a Treo Pro if the results are really good. No more day 1, the 800 killed me on that one.

There's probably gonna be some file on the Treo Pro different than the 800w in order to gain access to A-FLT. I remember Palm talking about it on the Centro:
Hmm...if you have any more details about Palm sharing that file, I wouldn't mind it.

There's almost no talk of AFLT on XDA, and everything I've found so far as nothing to do with it (just mentioned in passing).

Isn't this one of the big things they're saying about the Pre? That with it you can surf while you talk.
    Kyocera 6035 > Kyocera 7135 > Treo 600 > Treo 650. All Verizon. Sprint Treo 755p, HTC Mogul & Centro
Unlocked Treo 680 for trips outside Sprint's areas

No, can't get it to work, get the banner "cannot connect, end the current phone call first" like on the 800w.

Odd thing on this Pro is when you make a phone call, the EVDO symbol at top of screen changes to 1x while on the phone call. Does not make sense but I have checked or changed every setting. Data connection stays EVDO and is fast.

for what its worth sprint network DOES NOT on ANY phone allow voice and data at the same time what they keep referring to but wont clarify is simply wifi while on a call lol which 800w pro and pre all do lol

    How 'bout a registry dump?

(Just make sure you save it in .reg format and not some proprietary one.)

Can I use my sprite backup from 800w and load it on to my Pro right now without causing issues so I can get all my text messages and stuff too? if not any recommendations ?

If you exclude "System Data" from the restore it might just work out OK for you. Let us know how it goes.
