My 800 backlight goes dim after not using - but it never "turns off" and goes to sleep unless I hit the power button.

    is this normal?

when the back is dim, i can still touch the screen and the phone will "wake up"

    thanks.

Check your power settings and ensure that the device is set to turn off after x minutes...

How do the Power settings compare to the Backlight settings? Try unselecting the "Turn off backlight if device is not used for" checkbox in the Backlight settings; you may want to unselect this for battery and A/C. See if that helps.

One last thought: Sometimes my 800w seems to think it's plugged into A/C when it's not; consequently it uses the wrong settings. See if something like that's going on. Usually, plugging my 800w into A/C (either wall charger or USB connector) and then unplugging it causes it to correct itself.
