Sorry, that's not how the 800w's GPS works. Without the tweak, aGPS is not optional, it's the only GPS method that works (after all, autonomous is disabled).

Actually....yes (for two of the four you mention).

So with the tweak you go from 1 network to 156 networks. (And I think I accidentally deleted a half dozen or so networks when I was filtering out duplicates. )

I'd say that's a rather nice tweak, if you travel.

100% false. You have needed repeated schooling on how the GPS works on the 800w

The primary and required aGPS it sues, time assisted is 100% unaffected by your tweak. In no case wqill your "tweak" help that.

The secondary agps(almanac and ephemeris) is optional on the 80w since it has zero problem downloading them from the satellites.

    1) the 800w looks for the atomic GPS time but only relayed by a 1900/800 CDMA tower. (vs from the sats like standalone)

this is 100% unaffected by your tweak.

    2) The gps then can use either the sats to get ephemeris or get it from an ip type session via a data connection.

the tweak does not extend range one iota since you can get that from the sats.

We have already established and everyone here knows The trweak does not add one single netwrok. it has zero affect on getting time time.

Are you saying I cant already get the GPS time reset by a tower in the US virgin islands without your tweak? WTF that is 100% wrong. CDMA 101: Everyone with an 800w and the dumbest cdma dumbphone gets the atomic clock time micros second accurate time from the local tower on a cdma system.

Good luck on those 450 and 850 mhz systems. That you showed in Russia, India, china, Europe, etc. does your 800w work on non 800/1900 CDMA? I think you need a whole bunch of chips and a soldering iron to get that working.

Sprint thinks it is important. that is why in print material they brag the Pro has standalone.

My guess is that of the hundreds or so apps that can use standalone one or two might be a problme, but most will work fine.

I can take pictures on a pro while in Russia or in Yosemite, and have the gps coordinates included in the picture data. no go on the 800w/

It's funny how you keep saying I "have needed repeated schooling on how the GPS works on the 800w."

Well evidentially you need schooling on comprehension, because:

    1) I agree with you, the 800w needs network time and without which cannot work. Why do you keep bringing it up like I don't? Probably because that's the only thing you can keep coming back to. But hey, keep pretending like I don't agree with you on it, if it makes you feel better.

    2) I've asked you for proof of your claims that the QPST tweak doesn't work the way that multiple people have tested it and found it to work. No surprise that was a week ago and you still haven't posted any proof.

Well now, that's interesting. Quite a few sites (including smartdevicecentral.com, phonearena.com, and a whole slew of others) list the 800w as 850/1900. Curious that so many sites got that bit wrong.

Anyway, while you lose coverage in Warsaw, you do gain a bunch of coverage in Russia.

Oh, and a bunch of those networks that I listed that are 450 and 850? They also support 1900, so yes, you should be able to roam there.

Because you claim that without a data connection you can't get GPS a condition no one else experiences.

False. You could only get one network to work on your 800w in order to get the time signal? it is busted. You are the only one.

The tweak has zero affect. you either get the time signal or you don;t and the tweak has no effect on that -something we both know despite your claims to the contrary.

You post a map that has proposed systers, systems taken down, and a variety of frequencies -- all it says is you have never been to those countries because your phone wont work or get a signal on 95% of the map.

Because you have not presented one scrap of evidence that accurate time assist is affected by QPST!

    Why haven't you?
