I can receive text messages, but I cannot send text messages. When I try to send messages it looks like it is working, but the people I'm tesxting to do not receive the messages.

What could be the problem and how do I fix it?

my son had a similar problem.
his was caused by no memory left on phone.
he never emptied his delete folders and then ate up all the storage
memory on the phone. I don't know why but he could still recv txt msgs.
The delete folders got to big to use the empty function.
So I set delete to immediate
go to messages==>menu==>tools==>options==>empty deleted items -
    set to immediate.
then see if you can use the empty option, if not you'll have to delete a bunch at a time. it takes about 1 minute per 30 messages
    good luck

Get a clean up app....SKTools or MemMaid. That will take care of the memory issue
