    Could this device possible work? If it's on your visor wouldn't the solar cells be covered? Aren't most windshields tinted dark at the top?

    From what I can see, the solar cells are on the bottom/outside of your visor, so they would catch light all the time. The sun doesn't have to shine directly on the cells to generate power, so I don't think this would be a problem. From the specs it can operate 20 hours without solar energy, so the least energy it can generate from its cells will extend that.
