Has anyone got the Goolge Maps location function to work?

Are you talking about that little blue square thing in the bottom right corner? If so, make sure to select Menu>Use GPS, then pressing that button will give you your location within 20 meters.

Agree. Did not work until I first turned on GPS (I normally keep it on 911 only in the hope that it saves battery). Then go in the menu and click "use GPS". After that the blue button worked fine.

Yeah, cell tower triangulation is locked out on our phones, GPS is the only way to get it to work. There is another thread with very good detailed explanation of the differances if you search around here.

That may not be what he is talking about.

There is function built into google mobile that supports location right in pie.

As of 2 months ago it was not supported on the 800- but is on touch pro and a few others

the pie location also works off of the tower triangulation method which is why it doesnt work on our devices
