Over the weekend where I barely use my phone I found that the battery was draining like I used it all day. This morning I took it off the charger at 8am. One short call, one text and by Noon was at 50%. By 2 pm it was dead. No programs added and no settings changed. Went to my local store where my high school buddy is the manager. They don't have the tech service support in the store anymore but he gave me 2 Centro batteries. The date codes are younger than the stocker. Charging them up now.

Again they razzed me about still using this phone. I will refrain from the bad language. My buddy has the Curve and the other 2 have the Touch Pro. My rebate is up next Monday so I am debating trying out the Touch Pro. They claim battery is decent, better than the 800 (they had it). I will be the judge but very tempted to try it.

Don't know if this the same problem, but I've discovered that if I'm using the data connection (internet) and turn off the phone before I've manually disconected from the data connection (by tapping the EV logo and bringing up the wireless manager,) the battery will completely drain itself. It's done it twice now.

This happens to me but it is not consistent. I can go days where the battery will last me all day. Then one day it won't make it past noon with normal use.

This happened to me the other day too....after a bit of GPS usage, I came home and charged it up as much as I could before I went to work. I know I had at least 50% charge left, probably close to 70% or 80%. I was sure to exit TomTom and close GPSgate, so I didn't see any reason why my battery should drain. Got to work at 2. By 7 PM, (or possibly earlier), I was getting warnings that I had less than 10% battery power. This is after little to no use at all. Don't know what it was that caused my battery to die, but it was irritating to say the least (especially since I can't just use one of my numerous MiniUSB chargers). That's the first time it's ever happened so I'm not worried yet, but overall, I feel like the phone's battery is almost non existant. My mogul would last me all day and then some without me having to recharge during the day. 800w only lasts the day because I recharge it every chance I get.

Well these are pretty much consistent from what I've been experiencing. Some days the battery is incredible then others dead in 5 hours. I top mine off every chance I get too. It's pretty much hit or miss though.

I used my OEM battery today and it worked just fine. So now I have 3 batteries that work really well.

This has been a problem with Palm smartphones for a while. It happens occasionally with my 755p phones, and have noticed it pop up with 700p and 650 too. Nobody's narrowed it down to a specific repeatable cause sufficiently for me, so I just chalk it up to gremlins. Usually I keep a spare located somewhere close by. I still can't believe that Palm is putting less and less battery power into devices with more and more power drain. Then again, maybe I can...
Treo 755s in good condition available on ebay for $50-$75. No need to pay for insurance or buy a Pre.

I hate when ever I completely drain the battery. Once this happens i'm without a phone for 20 mins while its on the charger gathering enough battery power to turn on again.

Did you do the charging CAB file from Palm's website? I make sure I never run it completely out. Luckily I have 3 batteries now.

This is a bug but I never looked in Ebag's bug thread for it.

Are you referring to the extended time to turn on the phone after draining the battery completely?

If so, I don't think that's a bug. My 700wx does the exact same thing.

This behavior is documented in the User Guide. Try browsing it for answers before assuming every perceived problem is a bug.

"If the battery is fully drained, it may take a few minutes for the indicator light to turn on when you connect your Treo to the AC charger."

For many of us it doesn't take a few minutes. My third battery I just charged which was completely dead took around 20 minutes just to start the initial charge (red light would blink twice rapidly every few minutes). Try doing it yourself and see if it takes a few minutes like the user guide states.

Nah, its not a bug. I guess its just normal behavior. I do have a fix. Just never run it dead. Solved.
