So to keep my streak of installing a program and it wreaking havoc on my device I found the Picture Mail program now an issue.

So when I manually wake my phone it is frozen and it says "Picture Mail" in the top left corner. I can't do anything but hold the OK button down, End All Tasks then I can do stuff.

    Anyone have this going on?

I had a similar problem so I did a hard reset restored my phone to before I installed the app was thinking of trying it again but decided to wait for the first rom update I assume they will include a more stable version when ever they decide to update the phone

I do a hard reset every week. Still gives me this problem every once in awhile. The program itself works fine.

Why do you do so many hard resets I try to do it as little as possible

Because everytime I install an app something crazy happens, enough to warrant a hard reset. I guess I will leave it stock for awhile.

This would not surprise me if your exchange server is corrupting stuff.

PictureMail is tied into tmail, which in turn is tied into all the dbases that your exchange server is touching.

Ever going to test your device clean without your exchange server setup?

I actually have. I did not install Exchange for several hours. Some of the same quirks still remained. For starters I checked VM and I still got my sister's picture (correct phone number). Opera Mini freezes if I leave it open and the device sleeps. Once I wake the device up Opera Mini is frozen. I have to End All Tasks for it to go away. After this I installed Exchange and all this stuff still happens. I know how to deal with this stuff since its on a daily basis.

Glad to see you finally took some time to do this.

Where did you get your sister's number/picture/contact from if you didn't setup Exchange?

Maybe I'm confused, but I was under the impression that you were pulling your contacts down from Exchange. If you're not pulling them from Exchange, where are you getting them from?

This seems to be an issue with Mini. I had this problem with my 700wx. Dunno if it's something it doesn't like about the Treo's, the way it's coded, or what, but Mini has some weird issues (I really suspect a lot f it is the underlaying Java piece).

I can restore my device from unusable to perfectly fine in an hour or less (not even using a backup). Doesn't mean I want to, on a daily or even weekly basis.

I decided to try ActiveSync since it had not being working and finally it worked. That is where my sister's picture came from. Exchange was still not installed at this point. So I tried a few things that had not worked before or acted a bit funny before Exchange was set up.

The problem is that if you've taken your exchange (and potentially corrupt) database, and put that corrupt DB onto your PC via ActiveSynch, then all you did was put that corrupt DB back onto your 800.

After your next weekly hard reset, try using the device without restoring anything onto it. No programs, no contacts, no databases, nothing. That will 100% tell you if it's the device, or something that's happening.

Even some very quick and simple tests (check your voicemail, call a few people, etc) will tell you if the issues go away or not.
