When I get an email with a picture as an attachment (jpg, png, etc.) I cannot view it. I get the same pop up notification when I try to view a picture without going through the "Pictures and Video" route. It is really annoying. I have to try and save the pic and then view it. Way to many steps.

I had this problem. I think it happened as a result of MemMaid doing some registry cleanup and removing the .jpg association with the Pictures & Videos viewer.

What I would do is tap and hold on an existing picture file then select Open then Open with. Select Pictures & Videos from the list of applications and check the bottom checkbox to "Always use this program to open this type of file". Then click the "Done" softkey on the left.

Repeat the process for other image extensions, like gif, png, etc.

Thank You, I was waiting for Ebag to say it was just my device.

The pop up says "Uncapatible file type. Tap attached file and hold. Save it and view with compatible program."

I do have Memmaid. When I tap and hold the attachment the pop up says "save".

You have to pull a .jpg file onto the device and click/hold from there to execute the steps above. Once the files are re-associated with the proper app you'll be able to open them from the email again.

Got fustrated and performed a hard reset. So the streak continues. One hard set per week. I'm calling Guiness.

    All is fixed for now.

Vibrant, it's not the devices fault. It's because of MemMaid, a 3rd party application.

If you just ran through my steps with an existing picture (not the one in your email), your problem would have been solved without having to hard reset.

I considered saying it, but as I don't currently have e-mail setup and couldn't test it, I couldn't say definitively that it was not normal.

Yup, Santos has it right. (Though it's not just MemMaid that will do this.)

I don't have an "Open With " option when I tap and hold. Cut, Copy, Delete, Beam and Send is all I get.

After the Hard Reset all is back to normal. Maybe Memmaid did do it but how does it explain that it is working again?

On a side note. I do Hard Resets so often I am a Pro.

I haven't used Memmaid in ages, so I'm not sure why that specifically would cause it.

As for file associations, I don't think you can do it natively with File Explorer (boo). I use Total Commander to change associations on the rare instances I need to. Free, and easy to do.

Ah... I use Resco so that has an Open With. I don't even touch the regular File Explorer. It sucks.

I use it because I can't load many apps on my device without it doing something crazy. I have Memmaid, SPB Screenshot, WeatherPanel and SKTools and that is all.

I personally don't much like Memmaid. I had issues with it on my 700wx.

I know people rant and rave about it, but I just could never use it without experiencing odd issues.....

Its been stable on every Windows device I've had. I suppose I could use SKTools which also does everything Memmaid can do and more (Back Up's, Registry Hack Editor, etc.). I will wait until it happens again before I do that though.
