Mine is a couple weeks old, not covered, though I do carry it in a standard leather pouch "holster" usually. Though sometime also in my pocket. I had tons of issues with removing the cover and felt like I would break it until I read (and watched) the video posted elsewhere on how to remove it...seems to come off easily now.

I have not seen any cracks (though I do see that "ridge" between the volume and camera buttons and same ridge trailing off down from the camera button...I wonder why it is set up this way and it seems this could weaken the plastic.

Those that recieved replacements I would be interested to know if their issues returned with the new units.

I am reminded of ages ago when Apple put out the G4 Cube. Those were bedeviled by similar hairline cracks all over the case where the molded plastic was weakest (I remember as I was in their tech support and took my share of irate customers complaining about these cracks). I wonder if a similar issue has bitten Palm/HTC in this case.

is it fair to say that HTC sucks as a manufacturer?
Switched from the iPhone to Treo Pro

I don't think I've seen this happen on their OWN phones, so I think Palm sent them the specifications they wanted, so this could be on Palm for choosing a flimsy design.

However, they did make some weak Juno/Shadow screens.
HP has officially ruined it's own platform and kicked webOS loyalists and early TouchPad adopters to the curb. You think after you drop it like a hot potato and mention it made no money and is costing you money, anyone else wants it??? Way to go HP!!

And some people are fools to keep believing their hype. HP has shown they will throw webOS under the bus and people are still having faith in them??? News flash: if it's own company won't stand behind it, it's finished!

It's more likely a bad run/batch, rather than the design, especially considering that we've seen relatively few reports of it.

    Yep,

Too much hardner in the Plastic mix.
I'm pretty sure the guy running the 'Plastic Making Machine' got a 'Written Warning'.
If it happens again, he will be suspended for two weeks with pay.
    Just call me Berd.

Just thought I'd post something about this on Palm's Facebook page, see how long it takes for it to get deleted...

I posted the following (just in case it does get deleted)

    BUYER BEWARE.

Palm has not formally addressed with integrity their latest and greatest product: the Treo Pro.

I love the Pro though many of us have experienced cracks in our devices, some cases were recognised and replacement was issued. Some others experiencing this cracking after the 30 days have been forced to sell for cheap to try to minimise the monetary damage that has been caused, see what others have experienced at the links below.

Okay you stuffed (something) up but don't stuff up how you deal with it... that's not integrity. Do something. please.
