Hello. I just got my new treo 800w today and so far so good. I have one problem though. It doesnt let me play youtube videos or get the pc version of myspace. Does anyone have a fix for this. I tried searching the threads and couldnt find a step by step process to fix this. Im new to windows since i came from my 700p. I hope someone can walk me thru it.
    Thank you...

You need the Skyfire or Opera 9.5 browser to play YouTube.

Or you can use Coreplayer or Kinoma Play to access youtube. Both cost some $$; Kinoma Play has a free version, but the paid version has a great media guide.

    I highly recommend Skyfire, though.

For Windows Mobile, you will sometimes have two options for installing apps. The first option is with an executable (.exe) on your pc so that all you have to do is double click on the pc to begin the install process, and then acknowledge the install on your 800.

The 2nd (more popular) option is to simply drag/drop (through File Explore) the .cab file (the WM equivalent of Palm's .prc) to the root of your device, and then through File Explorer on your 800, tap that file to begin the installation.

Go to skyfire.com and register. Get the Skyfire browser installed and your all set. Opera 9.5 has a trial then you have to buy. Its nothing special for the money.

Skyfire does indeed rock - and has the advantage of enabling you to watch Hulu.com, CNN or Yahoo videos, & other video rich pages.

I prefer using TCPMP with the FlashVideoBundle plugin. Follow the instructions at http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index...ashVideoBundle

another handy app for Youtube is Vtap. It won't let you screen turn off until your video has played thru. I use them both but when i'm looking for long clips, I use vtap so I don't have to mess with adjusting backlight time and killing the battery (because I didn't switch it back).

I prefer this method to skyfire as well (although I do like skyfire). I think you need a recompiled version of tcpmp though. See link:

Thanks again everyone. I have one more question. On my 700p when you wanted to access your secondary keys such as pressing the shift key then the other key you could do that with one hand. On the 800w you have to hold down both keys at once. Is there a way to make it like the 700p?

Nope. WM you simply have to hold keys simultaneously and not consecutively.

kwood just get vtap - it's much easier and simpler than all these other crazy solutions. go to vtap.com on your device browser and download the app from there. I've tried every other option (TCPMP, flash bundle, Opera, Deepfish - the list goes on and on) and every time I come back to vtap. So easy. Fast. Simple.
    Give it a shot.

While im at it I also want to know which is the best email app to use. I only have yahoo email and it works fine but when I send an email it doesnt show up under my sent mail. Is there something better that wont jack the 800w all up or should I just stick with what the 800w comes with?

Oh and I can find on the 800w's stock email app where you can set it to just push messages thru to the device. It just gives an option to sync every set number of minutes. Id like it to push thru like my 700p did...
