I am on the Sprint network, have had lots of Treos, but I am a total newbie re. "unlocked phones." I am really interested in the Treo Pro, but don't know how service would work wrt an unlocked version.

Would an unlocked Treo Pro be compatible with Sprint? If so, and were I to get an unlocked Treo Pro, how would I go about adding it to my existing Sprint service?

    Any assistance is greatly appreciated!

The Pro is a GSM based phone. It's currently not compatible with the Sprint network.

Yep. AT&T works well. T-Mobile... not so much (their 3G frequencies aren't compatible with most unlocked phones). Sprint, Verizon, Alltel... apples and oranges.

And while there are rumors that Palm has a CDMA Pro in the works, those rumors are still flimsy and unsubstantiated... so if Palm is working on one, my hunch is it'll be a while before we see that version or know what CDMA carriers are picking it up.
