Has anyone else tried this on their 800W? So far I like it except for a lack of flash support, but since Skyfire has been a PITA to keep running, I thought I'd try some other browsers. So far it hasn't caused any crashes, I generally like the navigation model, but the jury is still out for me.

Did they improve the speed? Back when I tried 1.0.10 or 1.0.09 (forget which) it was quite slow compared to the competitors.

Did some extremely informal testing and got the following results loading treocentral from the today screen, launching the app, etc.

    PIE: 25 seconds
    Iris: 35 seconds
Skyfire: been like a half hour cause I can't get the email authentication to work......

Anyway, for the content diplayed, I like it better than PIE even if it's a bit slower.

I think that's roughly what I saw before.

I ended up seeing no real reason to use Iris over PIE + OM. Hopefully they'll do some more optimization.

I liked Opera, but with the screen and backlight freakout feature it came packaged with...well, I just couldn't use it....and I really hate PIE

PIE will be replaced with Internet Explorer Mobile 6 soon, so we will see after that.

Don't forget though, while skyfire is faster for the intial load, there is time involved in the zooming and navigation that I think isn't there on the others. I really would like to use Opera, but will wat for it to be ready.

Yeah, that is my current issue with Skyfire, the click/zoom loading time.

For anyone who likes Iris, I would recommend trying the also free NetFront Browser v3.5 - it's very similar to Iris, just I find it a bit faster, but it's the scrolling/panning around a page and the zooming in/out to be much more fluid, slick and usable.

What I like about Iris is that it's webkit-based, like Safari and Chrome. So pages display in it the same way they display on the iPhone, especially Google's iPhone-optimized web apps.
