Can someone please list which of the Palm "Special Sauce" tweaks from the 750 have made it to the Treo Pro and which have not ?

Most importantly, if I am on the Today screen and I just start typing a name, does it bring up the contacts search like the 750 ?

Also, if I hit the green call button from the today screen, do you get the list of recently called numbers ?

Will it have the speed dials on the today page? I haven't seen them on any photos of the phone. I don't care if the speed dials don't have the photo capability.

No, the Tre Pro has removed the Palm photo speed dial plug-in.

For users who really want this, you can purchase a third party program like SPB Phone Suite.

So WM 6.1 has adopted some of Palm's best ideas (ie threaded SMS, Today screen dialling etc)..... I hope Palm got the credit/payoff they deserve from Microsoft for this.

Today screen dialling was in WM Standard (i.e. MS Smartphone) long before Palm adopted WM.

Northern Beaches - still celebrating Manly's big Premiership win!

I take it from your sig, that you have traded up from the 750 to the Pro - how are you finding it ?

From everything I have read, I am still concerned the Treo Pro won't have some of my favourite features from the 750.

As per my original post, I like just typing a name on the today screen and bringing up the contacts search - from there, I like being able to hold down the centre button and then select that I want to send an SMS. Does the Treo Pro do this ?

Just my opinion but it really seems like the Treo Pro is devoid of any of Palm's Special Sauce. In my opinion its just another HTC phone with the Palm Form Factor. I was really hoping that they would have taken the 750 and shoved in Wifi and GPS and more memory and thats it. With that said, I still enjoy it and I haven't switched back to my 750 or Tilt since inserting the SIM, but I am disappointed. Personally I think I would have enjoyed the 800w more. So can anyone point to anything that demonstrates that Palm really had a big part in development of the phone? Am I missing something? I don't think it is even as fast as the 750 when scrolling through progrmas and the like. I was really hoping this was going to be the answer for me for a long while, but now I am thinking I am going to look at the Fuze once it is released.

Plus, the Treo 750 contact lookup from Today was buggy.
    And I have to agree.

Anybody know how to make the buttons better suited for 320x320 so they fill the entire screen when 2 wide instead of about 2/3?

    Thanks

    Hi all,

I'm considering buying (not really, Voda will bring me one for free) a Pro. I have a Diamond right now, but I miss the way my old 750 works, specially the way the "Home/Phone" works.

I know Treo pro doesn't work like other Treo WM devices, but, it's possible to add all this stuff on the Pro? I'm specially interested in the active call plugin, and the Phone menu in today Screen.

I could probably port it over if there was some interest in it....

List exactly what you are interested in, and I will see what I can do. Currently I have very little time as I worked 11 hours Tues, 15 hours yesterday, and will be working at least 10 hours today.....

Wow... too much work. It wouldn't be good for health...

The best for me would be basically to get the behaviour of Today Screen and plugins as in the 750 or 800; it is: The phone functions included on Today Screen (you know, "on call" plugins, phone menu on right button, and so on.)

Pro comes with standard Windows Mobile behaviour and I feel more useful the way previous Treos works.

    Thanks for your interest!
