Sometimes you want to send pics to peoples PHONES as you text them, not their email clients. Not everyone has smartphones to pull email.

Because when you want to send someone a picture, it's nice having it pushed to their phone instead of asking them for an e-mail address, sending it, then having them either check for e-mail on their phone or go home and check.

My parents do not have smart phones but can send and receive picture messages. they occasionally send me stuff but I can't send them anything back (and I have that annoying "click this link" to find my picture)

In my case, most of my friends use Picture Mail more than they would open their email, then load the picture. I guess its like, sms or make a phone call

    To uninstall the program:
    1. First try an uninstaller (wouldn't hurt).

    2. If that does notwork you can do a hard reset on your phone. Be careful because you will lose all of your personal data/files/contacts/programs/bug fix/updates etc. Make sure to back up your data first if you go this route. Remember to update your phone with the latest battery charging bug fix.

so i am now getting somewhere... i edited the registry

    MCLCFG_PROXY_URI"="http://<NAI> : pcs@68.28.31.1:80"

deleted the <NAI> : pcs and :80 stuff on both entries and now i get

"We're sorry, the sprint picture mail site is temporarily unavaliable due to routine maintenace..."
  10. #30
Perhaps that's why sMMS isn't working for me tonight?
  11. #31
Yes, I can confirm...picture mail is down. Looks like your moving along the right track.
  12. #32
BTW, you can start testing...Picture Mail is now up & running again.
  13. #33
is everyone trying this signed up at pictures.sprintpcs.com?

Does this use poutlook sms, palm's sms app, or does it "work" for both?

So far it just barely works (on any device).

    It uses Pocket Outlook.

So you can create a new message and send it out or to the "Send to..." option in Pictures.

    But, here's the kicker...

It doesn't intercept PictureMail. Meaning you still just get an SMS with a link like before, even if you "Send and Receive".

Nice, eh? Maybe it actually works on the Diamond in full...but we have not been able to verify it's behavior yet.

Has anyone had any success in getting this to work? I've installed the cab, rebooted, registered w/pictures.sprintpcs.com, made the registry edit, and still no luck . . . just the G66 error. Am I missing something or are we just currently hosed w/getting this to work w/on my 800w?

Stupid question: If I'm currently using sMMS, should I just keep using that and not worry about this until there's a fix?

I would, it works and there's no problem with it. When ever that gets fixed, then good, till then sMMS is what I'm using.
Remember, this is my opinion ! We all have a right to our own.....
