I have my 8 GB microSD card on the treo full, but have a lot of SD cards and such. Should I be able to plug an external card reader into the USB port on the bottom of the treo 800w and read stuff there? Or is there no way to convert that USB port to the full-size kind that my card reader has?

Just get a MicroSD to SD adapter, they are cheap. Just out of curiosity, what do you have on your phone that fills 8 gigs?

I don't believe that there is any other option for external storage apart from the built in MicroSD slot. Plugging in a USB card reader to the 800w (which would require quite a few adaptors btw) will not work. I think it has something to do with the device not having USB host capabilities (since it's really just meant to be plugged into your computer to sync) and even after that, it doesn't have the drivers for your card reader.

However, you can make your Treo behave as if it's a USB stick. Search for WM5torage. So you can copy straight from your SD card attached in the card reader to your Treo without ActiveSync/WMDC. Faster too.

That would give me 8Gb free if I took off the porn. Geesh. What's the point of the storage card then.

E-Books on your Treo? You, sir, are insane.

I've tried doing the E-Book thing on my Dell Axim (still has one of the nicest screens of any PDA) and it was a pain and hurt my eyes after a while (20/20 vision even!).

I ended up getting a Sony E-Book reader and I've got to say, nothing even compares. It's like reading a real book but without the paper and size.

I haven't tried a dedicated ebook reader. However, I do have a Samsung Q1U UMPC. That makes a fantastic ebook reader.
