    It will always be something...

SPARE BATTERY FOR FREE?!?! Where are you guys seeing this? I would request one immediate if I knew where to get it!

I've read this off and on on this forum.... I've just about every thread on the 800 so I can't tell you exactly where this info is located.

Some are saying to go to the local store and complain of battery life... this seems to be hit and miss (might work, it might not).

Can anyone explain why the Treo Pro being slimmer than the 800w has a more powerful battery, but no more powerful battery can be made for the 800w without having to larger?

To we who are not battery experts, it seems they would be able to make a stronger battery for those who need it in the 800w, that is just as slim as the Treo Pro battery.

Why does the Treo Pro battery not work in the 800w? Or will it possibly?

I think the Pro's battery is going to be longer. The back looks like the whole thing comes off and I bet the majority of that space from the bottom up to the camera lens is the battery.

Not to seem like a smart **** (I'm not) but that would be an excellent question for a Sedio rep to answer.... If it can be accomplished.

I'm not sure myself... I don't know enough to even make an educated guess...

    edit:

Well, I called sedio... the guy said he did not know when the battery would be launched (I asked a couple of different ways and asked if "anyone else would know." He said no and stated the product was in development).... did say that most of the time they offer two batteries, he said 1500 and (I think he said) 2600. These were "in general" from the way he said it.

I'd have to say that the guy who answered the phone had to be the most polite person I've spoken to over the phone (when calling a company) in a long time.

Yea the Pro is longer and even wider, although slimmer (less dense) so you may be correct.

Anyway, glad I'm usually near a charger and if I ever need more power I've got the Sprint Power Pack.

    Thanks TK!

Wow that battery really is long and wide!

The unit is larger than I thought and all battery. I like the feel of the 800W key pad and the extra protection of the Centro keypad. Looks good.

I'm sure if cost isn't an issue they can probably make a battery that has twice the capacity of ours, and is half the size as well. The real question is - will enough people shell out the money to make the R&D, manufacturing, and advertisement cost effective? My guess is that if the 800w takes off and sells well, we'll get a higher capacity battery that is the same size. If not, we're screwed lol. I think the success of the Centro will work in our favor, as whoever develops such a battery can also market to them as well. Personally, I'm okay with my battery life for now - although I definately wouldn't complain if it lasted twice as long!

    Seidio,

When this battery is ready for production, stamp a picture of Texas on it, and call it the Texas edition.

Payment for the marketing advice can be sent through PayPal.
