All of the sudden I cannot connect to Power Vision. The phone no longer shows the bubble that it is connection to #777. The strange thing is Opera Mini still works but Email and Opera Mobile do not. I have tried re-entering my connections settings with soft reset with no luck. I have unlimited data. What the hell do I do? I seem to remember this happening on my Q and i had to reset it on their website somehow - it took about an hour or so.

I'm not postive what my password is, it was already entered when i got the phone. Anyone know where you can reset this baby?

To make sure your Power vision username/password is correct, just to an update. Go to the dialpad and type ##DATA#, then select Update Profile. Make sure you are in a strong signal area. Also this make take a minute or so before you see that your phone is provisioning.

    OK I get this:

    Error 1012: Provisioning error

    Update incomplete.

A data connection could not be established to configure your phone for Vision Services. If the problem persists, contact sprint.

Well there you go. Try again later or call Sprint.

    That blows

Make sure you are in a strong signal area and stationary. Then run the update again as I mentioned above.

I just ran into the same problem. I cannot connect to PCS (#777). I tried the instructions below and got the same error message. What happened? I don't even know where my password is or even where to go online to change it. I was all over the place and could not find it. Where is it on Sprint.com? Otherwise this phone is just plain awesome.

    Thanks

When I did ROM updates on my Mogul and this happened, I had to wait a certain amount of time without even trying a data connection then tried again and it would work (can't remember the time; it may have been 15 minutes or an hour).

Other than that you have to call Sprint.

I had to call Sprint. I ended up talking to a "Treo Specialist". He was also stumped. We ended up resetting my profiles on the phone and with Sprint and performed a hard reset which pretty much erased everything. But hey, it's working again!

My password was correct, even though I never assigned a password to myself. The rep said we all have passwords and just don't know it. When you go to ##DATA#, and then type the other code into modify, you can see the password. Mine was correct, but still was not the problem. The 1012 error message kept on appearing. So, hard reset, reset all profiles, and all fixed.

This thing is a piece of ****. I spoke to a "treo specialist" (cool guy has 800w too) and had to hard reset my phone too, and now it looks like I will have the joy of doing it all over again because my data connection mysteriously has dissapeared again. I think I am going to return this phone, it's not worth the damn hassle.

    ##DATA# didn't re-provision the phone

What's really odd is that Opera Mini still gets data connection, but IE & email gets scrooged. I wish I knew what caused this. At least I have a recent sprite backup, hopefully that will undo whatever is toasting my data connection. I have a feeling it has to do with crappy Active Sync messing something up.

Anyone seen my data connection? j/k. Sprite Backup is your friend. I reccomend everyone does a backup often (it has a scheduler). This way you can just RTN the phone and restore your last known good backup.

Hopefully I can figure out what the hell is causing this nasty little problem. For now I think I will be preventing USB connections so I can charge and using btooth for sync. I hate soft resetting everytime I want to sync up my stupid Outlook calendar anyway.

Sounds like a third party application since the data signal goes away except for Opera. Opera must be accessing it slightly different than other applications and thus, it's not broken.

Use some trial and error. Install some apps and see if it breaks. If it doesn't, add more until it does. Then start to take them away to see if that helps.

Almost convinced its ActiveSync somehow. I had not added any new applications recently and boom out of the dark just stops working. RTN and backup restore gets me up an running again. The fact that Opera Mini continues to work is interesting to say the least.

I had these same symptoms after trying to retrieve mail via Powervision while connected to the USB cable. I had to hard reset to fix the problem.

Like Socomon said, I had this issue today and after hour or too talking with Customer Service a hard reset fixed issue. The CS rep told me its a problem with the Provisioning application getting boggled down. Hope this helps

This totally blows. I have 8 email accounts and 3 of them are set to check every 5 minutes, so how am I to sync my calendar without risking data death.

Futhermore - disabling USB connections in AS allows charging without sync but causes the annoyingly persistent 'USB Device Not Recognized' bubble to infinitely loop.

Man I thought AS was bad on WM5 but once again M$ has found a way to really **** things up worse.

I have this problem at present.. hard reset hasn't helped...

BTW, did you disable the "Display message on screen" for Connection Established event, under Sounds and Notifications? If so, I think this doesn't show the #777 popup bubble. Therefore, the device will still dialout, but you just don't see the dialing notification.

Also, how's the signal strength in your area? Did you enable Rev.A?

I was able to disable to pop up message, but the battery drains quickly as it keeps updating vision services..

anyone knows how to turn off the Vision Services temporarily.. (of course without turning the phone off)

    TIA

My wife had this same issue on her centro. Everytime we have to swap phones or update it it wont connect. They told us its because she has an old plan. So after an hour on the phone with sprint they figured it was a network issue. Beats me...
