    i am a former POS user, i now have an 800w and i used to use a program called minitones for my ringtones.
    is there any type of software that allows you to trim your mp3's to make ringtones or alerts?

    You can use a PC based application in order to do so, which is what i did. However if you are interested in a ring-tone management application, Ringo WM appears to be it and the "bad" side is that it appears as though the tones just gotta live in main memory.

    what kind of pc app did you use?
    if you could give a brief tuturial about it that would be awesome?
    if it is easy im sure i can figure it out though, lol

    U can use any prog that allows u to crop songs...or u can go to www.3gforfree.com and it willl allow u to create ringtones

    Audacity (sourceforge.net) is probably the best and easiest (and free) to use for just cutting mp3's.

    I used Ringo for my treo 700wx but it doesnt work with the treo 800w

    I just used this today. Excellent little app. It saves your trimmed mp3 as
    RT-xxxxxx in My Documents\My Ringtones.
    Love it!
