I just received my 8GB microSD card. In windows, I can see its formatted FAT32 with allocation unit size of 32KB. So when I copied 830MB of data from my older miniSD card, it actually is taking 885MB of space on the card. With this rate, I will loose about 500MB after full capacity of my card. I was wondering what if I reformat the card using a smaller allocation unit size? Will I gain some space?
More than space, I would like to know what are the benefits of smaller/larger allocation size and which one is ideal allocation size for my use with Treo phone??

Update: I reformatted it with 4KB as allocation size and now the disk space usage reduced to 840MB. So seems like 4KB is better size to use. Any ideas??
