    Hi,

I figured I would put a list together of things i need to make my 800w get back on track.

    1. Install Geovision
    2. Install RealPlayer

    3. Install Hannip's Voicecommand tweak:

After extensive testing I have found the following.

Use a registry editor to change the following value
    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\SoundCategories\VoiceCommand1]
    AttenuationCategory

It is set to 3 originally. The values and meanings are:

0 = low during ring, mute in call
1 = loud during ring, mute in call
2 = low during ring, low in call
3 = loud during ring, lound in call

1 seems to be a good setting.

You do *not* need to reset for it to take affect.

    3. Install Hannip's GPS Tool
    4. Install Hannips Mortscript 7
    5. Change sounds & notifications to stop new email / text from making noise / beeping.
    6. Menu / Pref's - hide lookup field (for contacts)
    7. A- Install Mortscript
    8. Make side button activate VC (using Mortscript & Multiswitch)
    9. Install Mortscripts (folder with various scripts)
    10. enable voice command
    11. Disable error reporting
    12. Change pictures & videos to use the storage card & default to the max res
    12. Install resco explorer
13 Start menu icons - Today, Calendar, Calc, Camera, Geovision, IE, Messaging, soft reset (under menu)
    14. Add Clock to all windows
    15. Classic Black Background
    16. Add Date hack - http://discussion.treocentral.com/sh...=128594&page=3
    17. Install Voiceminder using voicenotes@ad.com
    18. Install Jetware
    19. Install Hannips shortcuts (for settings)
    20. Install weather in favorites
    21. Install Hannips SMS/Text toggle (Disable Palms messaging in today screen).
    22. Install Cdate
    23. Install GPSToday
    24. Install screen cap
    25. Personal digiatal clock - big clock plugin

    Other tweaks:

Reduce Hold Time for side button:
    \HKLM\Software\Palm\keyboard

Change the D word value PressAndHoldDelay to what ever you want, original is 1000

I changed mine to 300. Funny I was going to post this after I found the key in the registry while looking for something else but didnt see a spot for wx reg edits.

Make WM5 keep CAB files around after installing (1)

If you wish to keep the original .CAB file around after installing the application, set:
    HKLM\Software\apps\Microsoft Application Installer\nDynamicDelete = 0 (DWORD decimal)
Or to restore to the default:
    HKLM\Software\apps\Microsoft Application Installer\nDynamicDelete = 2 (DWORD decimal)

    IE Scrolling:
-First, close out of Pocket IE if you already have it open
-Then Using a wm5 registry editor (I used resco regedit): go to -
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\
    - Create a new key. Call it "KeyMaps" (without quotes)
    - Under the newly created "KeyMaps" create a DWORD Value. Name it "37" and give it a DWORD data value of "1" (without quotes)
    - Under the newly created "KeyMaps" create a DWORD Value. Name it "39" and give it a DWORD data value of "2" (without quotes)
the final result should like like this:

y" 89 key for up and "h72" key for down

Add Outlook link for start menu:

To get one you will have to go to file explorer and click on My Device -> Windows then find Tmail then click and hold copy. Then go to Windows -> Start Menu -> Programs and click menu - edit - paste shortcut. Then rename the Shortcut to Tmail to Outlook. Then it should show up in the list for you as Outlook.

Thats all folks, then I am back up & running.

    Install quick click side button

    Volume ring fix

In another thread, Dave06stx got me thinking about this again, if you are looking to make the phone ring as loud as the ring preview in the sounds & notifications section, another fix...

    From here:
    http://discussion.treocentral.com/sh...d.php?t=169919

Your post did get me thinking about this again and here is another temp fix until the right solution is found.
The ring preview in sounds & notifications is loud and clear and the volume on the same ringtone is low and muted when the phone rings, some of the temp fixes discussed here don't stick after a soft reset.
If you want the ringer to sound like the preview, here is a simple fix that will survive a soft reset:

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Sounds\PlmORingTone1
    Script=av0pw3c150r
    SavedScript=apw3c150r
    Sound=\Windows\Ringer Loud.mid
    Category=Ring

    Change Category to "RingPreview"
    (no quote marks)
No need for a soft reset, works immediately.
You can turn down the ring volume to your satisfaction.
We need a permanant fix to the sound issues.

Change red phone key to screen off instead of home.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

To change the red phone key back to the same functionality as the 700WX (i.e. pressing red phone turns screen off instead of going to home) Change the following Key

    HKLM\Software\Palm\Keyboard\

    EndKeyAsHomeKey from 1 to 0

    Real VGA: http://discussion.treocentral.com/sh...d.php?t=168274

    Calender reminder - alert beep

    Internet Sharing -
Once the backup is completed, browse to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\InternetSharing (If you don't know how to do this, see below, else skip the next step)
-When you open PHM RegEdit you should see "MyDevice" and folders below it (if you don't see the folders below it, click the "+" beside "MyDevice."). Now click the "+" beside "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE." Next, click the "+" beside "Comm." Finally, scroll down to "Internet Sharing" and click on the folder itself, not the "+".
-Tap and hold on "Extension" until a menu comes up. Click "Rename" in this menu. Rename "Extension" to "Extension2."
    -Exit PHM RegEdit

I can't get this to work.
    values for keyMaps
    37 1 (dword)
    39 2 (dword)

I should be able to press the Y and H keys in IE for "normal"scrolling, right?

    Not working...!?

    ?

MortScript is Mort's, not Hannip's. Unless you're referring to something with which I'm unfamiliar.

However, Hannip is damned good with MortScript...

What kind of scripts do you have running? I'm new to the whole mortscript thing, the only time i've used it was for the a2dp tweak. Please share.

Change the 37 to 89 & the 39 to 72 & that should do it. The regedit is someone elses.
