OMG, my eyes must be deceiving me!

How long before we get an update for the low call volume I wonder? This phone could end up being the perfect device after all.

Calendar button, but I use MultiSwitch7 script to add more than one function to the button.

My concern is that the page on Palm's site stating "Coming Soon..." will, when released, have a small caveat...for $19.99.

Anyone think they will charge for this?

I seriously doubt they will charge for it; they've already gone to the trouble of bundling MS Voice Command (MSRP $40) with the phone itself, and voice dialing with a bluetooth headset is arguably a "basic feature" of most phones - even those in the $50-100 range nowadays - so in the words of Krusty, "this just gets [them] to normal."

Still, I wouldn't buy it until there's a .CAB file on that web page. One word: Foleo. (ok, that was in poor taste, but I think I'll still wait for the cab.)

Is there a manual/documentation on how to use this new feature?

Here is a Voice Command tutorial.

    http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobi...tutorials.mspx

Make sure you have Voice Command activated in Start->Settings. Find out from your headset manual how to initiate voice dialing. It's usually a button tap or press till you hear a beep. Voice Command should play a quick beep to tell you the mic is open and ready for you to speak a command.

If you are calling someone in your contacts say "Call <name of person>". You will be asked for confirmation. Say "Yes" or "Correct" and it will start dialing.

If you are calling someone not in your contacts say "Dial <number to call>"

See the tutorial for all the other variations.

I guess you missed the "It's here!" threads. We've all installed it and tried it. Works great for the most part. Pre-existing bluetooth bugs still exist.

I can't seem to get it to install. It says it runs; restarts. But I don't see it in my programs as the palm site says I should. Try again and it says it has to unisntall the previous version, which it can't,...and I see no where to remove it?

Palm says it'll go into the programs? This update basically replaces the Audio Gateway, something you're not going to explicitly use. If it installed then you're good to go.

Wow! I use VC with my BT8040 and it works great. I agree there needs to be additional documentation on how to use VC. With the BT8040 the usage instructions is just like described by hannip (post #27).

You can also say 'help' and the ladies voice will explain how to:
    1. Redial last number
    2. Call a contact from contact list
    3. Dial a number (spoken digit by digit)

Awesome stuff - it even announces who is calling (speaks the actual name and from where (i.e. work, home or cell) the caller is calling from) if they are in your contacts.
