I recently switched from a 700p to 800w. Using ActiveSync on the 700p (VersaMail) with the setting "sync as items arrive," the phone "wakes up" when a new email arrives. It appears that this behavior is gone on the 800w - if the screen is off, there's no indication that there's new email.

Is there a way to change this?

    Settings/Personal/Sounds & Notifications

On the Sounds Tab - Make sure Notifications (alarms, reminders) is checked
On the Notifications Tab - Select Event: Inbox: New e-mail message
    - Make sure Display Message on Screen is checked.

This should turn on the popup notification for new email messages and will then wake the screen upon arrival.

Also check out Treo Alert Pro which adds blinking LED functionality for new messages and other events.

Thanks. I do have notifications turned on and I do have checked "Display message on screen" for a new email message, but the screen still doesn't turn on when email arrives.

I'll try the Treo Alert program.

Has Treo Alert Pro been tested on the 800w?

Where can I go to download?

    Thanks.

Like mentioned use TreoAlert and instead of it waking up just assign the LED for it. That is how I have it set.

Exchange push has never turned the screen on in WM.

    Vibrate? yes. Audio? yes.

    Turn on screen? Never.

    Reason? Battery life.
