    Video Mode
I took a few videos last night. When I played them back in Full Screen mode it was only a little square. Couldn't find a way to make it true full screen. When I bluetoothed it to my friends Instinct he could view it in 3 different sizes. I'm the one who took video and can only view in a 1.5 X 1.5 inch square. What the hell? Did I miss a setting?

    Camera Mode
I took a bunch of pictures. On this device you cannot just go to the picture on the memory card, select it and view it. You have to go into the "Pictures & Videos" section then in the drop down select Storage Card to view them. I find that really weird. All my other devices I could click on the picture no matter where it's at and view it. Did I miss a setting?

Can at least someone check if its just my device? Take a picture, save it to the memory card. Then find the picture on the memory card and click on it. Will it show up or do you get the Error pop up?

Ok, took a pic, saved it to memory card, and went to thumbnail to view it and it went right to it. I clicked it and viewed it with no problem.

The way I get into my pics is through the camera mode. IF you go to thumbnails you can view your pics that way too. I didn't have any problem.

Ok, I recoreded one, not sure if this makes a difference, but there are 2 recording options when recording video if you hit Menu then go down to quality. Its 176x144, and 320x240. I chose the 320x240, then after the recording when you go to play it back, under Menu there is an option to do Full screen, and it will go into it.

EDIT::: Ok, if you record in 176x144 it will show a very small screen even if you put it in Full Screen mode...Just tried it..

Also, if anyone has P-Tunes installed, you may have to go in and uncheck the .3gp and the .3g2.. If you go to P-Tunes, then hit the Right Soft Key, that will bring up the Menu--->Prefs--->External Media Prefs..

When you record a video, and this is checked P-Tunes attempts to play the video and can't. After unchecking the file association, then Windows Media plays the video like it should.

Chat with Palm Support. If you read below this phone does not support full screen mode viewing. What the hell is that?

Joe_(Sun Jul 20 12:09:47 EDT 2008)>Having an issue with the video recorder. When taking a video on the Large setting, it will not play back in full screen mode. Just a little square.

    Dan(Sun Jul 20 09:10:00 EDT 2008)>Okay..

Joe_(Sun Jul 20 12:10:36 EDT 2008)>I sent the video to my wife's Instinct and she can view in full screen. In fact she has 3 sized to choose from. I took the video and can only view in a 1 inch by 1 inch square.

    Dan(Sun Jul 20 09:11:08 EDT 2008)> Please give me 2 minutes

    Joe_(Sun Jul 20 12:11:45 EDT 2008)>While I wait I'll write another.

Joe_(Sun Jul 20 12:13:21 EDT 2008)>When I take a picture and save it to the memory card and want to view it. I can only view it from the "Pictures and Video" area. I can go to the picture on the video card and select it. I get a pop up that says "There is no application "img001". Run the application first, then open this file from within the application."

Joe_(Sun Jul 20 12:14:14 EDT 2008)>So I have to go to Pictures and Videos and view them. I find that weird. I have a Mogul and Q9C. I can view them any way I want.

Dan(Sun Jul 20 09:14:46 EDT 2008)>Thank you for all the information provided .

Dan(Sun Jul 20 09:15:03 EDT 2008)>To view the video in the device .

    Joe_(Sun Jul 20 12:17:19 EDT 2008)>You there?

    Dan(Sun Jul 20 09:17:21 EDT 2008)>There click on Menu.

    Dan(Sun Jul 20 09:17:28 EDT 2008)>I am with you .

Joe_(Sun Jul 20 12:18:05 EDT 2008)>ok. How do I view in full screen instead of a little square. I went into options and full screen is checked.

    Dan(Sun Jul 20 09:18:03 EDT 2008)>Then click on Tools-->Options .

    Dan(Sun Jul 20 09:18:29 EDT 2008)>There set screen resolution to 640*320.

Joe_(Sun Jul 20 12:19:35 EDT 2008)>Yes, got that set already. It's the Largest setting. I recorded in that mode. I also playback in full mode. However I only can view the video in a 1 inch by 1 inch square. The rest of the screen is black.

    Joe_(Sun Jul 20 12:19:55 EDT 2008)>Set at 640X480.

    Dan(Sun Jul 20 09:20:08 EDT 2008)>Okay.

Dan(Sun Jul 20 09:20:24 EDT 2008)>I am duplicating issue on my end .

    Dan(Sun Jul 20 09:26:29 EDT 2008)>Thank you for being on hold .

    Joe_(Sun Jul 20 12:27:29 EDT 2008)>And?

Dan(Sun Jul 20 09:27:37 EDT 2008)>By the make and manufacture of the device the video mode is same as you view on your device .

    Joe_(Sun Jul 20 12:27:56 EDT 2008)>right.

Dan(Sun Jul 20 09:28:21 EDT 2008)>And regarding the issue with the SD card in the device .

    Dan(Sun Jul 20 09:28:39 EDT 2008)>Please click on Pics and videos .

Dan(Sun Jul 20 09:29:15 EDT 2008)>There click on My pictures drop down menu and see if you have option called Card.

Joe_(Sun Jul 20 12:29:39 EDT 2008)>I know. I have to click on that in order to view. My others devices do not require to be in a specific folder to view.

    Dan(Sun Jul 20 09:29:51 EDT 2008)>Okay.

    Dan(Sun Jul 20 09:29:56 EDT 2008)>I understand your concern .

Joe_(Sun Jul 20 12:30:20 EDT 2008)>Ok, so now that there no other way I will just do that. So lets go back to the Video. We have not figured that out yet.

    Dan(Sun Jul 20 09:30:34 EDT 2008)>Okay.

Joe_(Sun Jul 20 12:32:06 EDT 2008)>I have it set for Large 640 X 480. I recored the video in that mode. I view the video in full screen. The problem is I do not get full screen. I get a little square which is so small its barely visable.

Dan(Sun Jul 20 09:33:10 EDT 2008)>Regarding the video issue, I have duplicates at my end and checked, I am afraid that we cant view the video in Full Screen it seems that it has been designed in that format only, I have duplicated at my end and discussed with Colleagues as well.

Joe_(Sun Jul 20 12:34:18 EDT 2008)>You have to be kidding?

Dan(Sun Jul 20 09:34:39 EDT 2008)>I can understand your concern but the device has some limitations and I am afraid that we can't view the vide in full screen, I mean fit the video complete screen.

Joe_(Sun Jul 20 12:35:19 EDT 2008)>Wow, that is interesting. Am I the only one that has brought this to Palm's attention?

Dan(Sun Jul 20 09:37:05 EDT 2008)>Yes this is the first time, As its a New device and we are collecting all the information regarding the device and forwarding to our Engineering Team so that it will be fixed with updates or Softwares on the device.

Joe_(Sun Jul 20 12:38:32 EDT 2008)>Also having an issues with occasional missed Alerts, Reminders and even phone calls. Has this been reported at all?

Dan(Sun Jul 20 09:39:05 EDT 2008)>Did you perform Soft Reset on the Device and checked whether the issue has been fixed or not?

Dan(Sun Jul 20 09:39:51 EDT 2008)>Is Notification Box checked in Sound & Notifications on the Device?

Joe_(Sun Jul 20 12:39:57 EDT 2008)>I perform a soft reset a few times a day. In fact twice today. It was stuck in non-EVDO.

Joe_(Sun Jul 20 12:40:30 EDT 2008)>Yes it is checked. This issue does not happen everytime, just every once in awhile. Today I missed a call.

    Dan(Sun Jul 20 09:40:57 EDT 2008)>Okay.

Dan(Sun Jul 20 09:41:06 EDT 2008)>Did you install any Third Party Softwares on the Device?

Dan(Sun Jul 20 09:41:59 EDT 2008)>Do you have data backed up on the PC which you have on the Device?

    Joe_(Sun Jul 20 12:42:10 EDT 2008)>Yes.

    Dan(Sun Jul 20 09:42:44 EDT 2008)>Okay.

    Dan(Sun Jul 20 09:42:47 EDT 2008)>Let me explain you.

Dan(Sun Jul 20 09:43:11 EDT 2008)>Lets perform Hard Reset on the Device and check whether its an issue with Hardware on the device or corrupted data causing the issue.

Dan(Sun Jul 20 09:43:17 EDT 2008)>Hard Reset will Erase all the Data from the Device.

Dan(Sun Jul 20 09:43:27 EDT 2008)>Hard Reset will bring back the device to factory settings.

Joe_(Sun Jul 20 12:43:53 EDT 2008)>I know what a Hard Set is and what it does. I did one a few days ago.

Dan(Sun Jul 20 09:44:30 EDT 2008)>Lets perform Hard Reset on the device and check the device for a day without any Third Party Softwares on the device and check whether we still have same issue or not.

Dan(Sun Jul 20 09:44:55 EDT 2008)>So that we can confirm whether its an issue with Hardware on the device or corrupted data causing the issue.

    Joe_(Sun Jul 20 12:45:32 EDT 2008)>Ok, I will try that later.

Dan(Sun Jul 20 09:46:23 EDT 2008)>I am sure by performing Hard Reset on the device and use the device without any Third Party Softwares for a Day will narrow down the issue whether its an issue with Hardware on the device or not.

    Joe_(Sun Jul 20 12:46:37 EDT 2008)>Ok.

Dan(Sun Jul 20 09:46:34 EDT 2008)>I will save this chat session.

Ok, I don't know if mines a freak or not, but if your talking about going into your video and playing it back with the video being blown up and taking up the whole screen, it can do it. I've done it now about 10 times now.

How do you record in 640 x 480? I thought the max was 320 x 240 for videos....
Where are you getting that setting from?

EDIT: Are you getting 640 X 480 on the Options> General Tab? For the camera And Video settings..I read your conversation with Palm and from the looks of it they told you to change The E-mail Resolution Size....

I Think this was posted already but, To get the video to play full screen you need to change the Quality Setting Under Menu while in the Video Recording mode. Change it to 320 x 240. Should fix your problem.

Sorry, not record in 640 X 480 but view and send in that size. You are correct, recording max size 320 X 240. I said that wrong.

Just did a hard reset. Seems to be working a little better now. Its not true full screen, still have space on the top and bottom. However I was only getting a 1 inch by 1 inch square so this is such an improvement I'm not going to complain about it.
