To enable video zoom (not very useful, but works)

    HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Pictures\Camera\OEM

    change 0 to 1

    More useful settings there:

    EnableWhiteBalance
    Change 0 to 1
(Marginally useful, I only noticed the *SLIGHTEST* difference in the picture.)

    HideFullScreenMenu
    Change 1 to 0

this is equivalent to "pipelining" on your desktop. The Pro...more speed..the Con...each additional connection uses a little more memory. The following keys work on both wm5 and wm6..they may or may NOT exist on your system in which case you will want to create them as new DWORD keys.

    HKCU/Software/Microsoft/Internet Explorer/Main/MaxRequestThreads = 10
    HKCU/Software/Microsoft/Internet Explorer/Main/MaxConnectionsPerServer = 10

Values up to 50 were tried..some folks used 20, 30, 50 etc so it's something you can experiment with but the default is usually 4 or 5 so this in effect is doubling it.
for this modification do you change the decimal number to 10 or do you just write the whole key out

    I set both to 25.
Malatesta, that isn't very nice. Large sites like google and Amazon might not be affected, even with large numbers of tweakers, but smaller places can feel the pinch. At the very least, try not to go beyond 16.

    Yeah, that's true.

To be honest, when that hack came out (very long time ago) and FasterFox was a popular plugin for FireFox, the ramifications of such actions had not be fully fleshed out on blogs and tech sites, so it wasn't really obvious to us who were implementing it. We just saw "faster".

But yeah, I generally agree especially on the desktop except for one caveat: it's not clear how detrimental this is on a mobile device for these sites, presumably it may be the same on their end regardless...dunno.

A mobile device is simply slower as well, so the benefits of going higher than 16 (or even lower) will be slim to none.

Change DNS Servers for Web browsing (greatly speeds up browsing)
I remember doing this on my 700wx. The new DNS servers worked then one day while I was traveling for work, I could no longer access the web. It turns out the DNS servers were down (or at least inaccessible for me) for 3-4 days.

Not sure if that could still be an issue.

It could happen, just like it could happen to Sprint too

But, at least I have never experienced it. I use it on my computers, laptops, phones, etc.

GTK though as a simple edit to go back to the default will fix that...

Do you actually notice a difference?

The difference to me is so slim I doubt I'd touch it. But I've only tested it indoors....

To change the red phone key back to the same functionality as the 700WX (i.e. pressing red phone turns screen off instead of going to home) Change the following Key

    HKLM\Software\Palm\Keyboard\

    EndKeyAsHomeKey from 1 to 0

    Awesome find! thanks for that!
