Someone at Palm or Sprint decided not to go up against the iPhony. Right or wrong, they decided that they would get a bigger bang if they launched on Monday instead. This phone should get its fair share of recognition shortly.

Now I'm partially devastated. I was hoping to be able to use PocketGBA to run games in full-screen goodness or some reasonable facsimile thereof. It does not work.

    I know it's early, but...

    1) The GPS is iffy at best. Even outdoors it was off. When it does work, GPS apps like TomTom, BeeLine GPS, GPS Tuner, Speed Sentry can't see it. When more users get it, I hope to see a GPS sensitivity test against the Mogul, Touch, and a 700wx w/ SirfIII GPS

    2) Major apps are not working - Slingplayer, PocketGBA (major for me)

    3) The battery is dropping at an embarrassingly fast rate.

Hopefully it gets better from here.

I use Morphgear for SNES emulation. Their GBA module is nowhere near PocketGBA.

Morphgear DOES look great on this screen. I wish PocketGBA would work...

Palringo (IM Software) seems to work, but I only tried it for a few minutes. I didn't like it.

I would like to know if Intelligolf GPS and/or Star Caddy works on the 800w. I want to see if the programs works with the internal GPS. There is a trial version at www.intelligolf.com and www.starcaddy.com. Let me know. Thanks.

As far as I can tell, this GPS is spotty at best. I can't get it to work with any app other than Maps, and Maps crashes half the time after locking onto a signal and while trying to fetch map data...

Did you go into ">Settings>System>GPS Manager", and then set the port programs will use?

Yes. Google Maps works when you set it to use manual setting with the COM port and Baud rate assigned in the GPS settings panel.

Live Search works as long as you don't run Maps first, it appears.

Other GPS apps are a no-go for now.

What I meant was the settings on the 800w itself.

Yes, that's what I did. I could only get GMaps to work with the following:

    - COM7 as the Windows GPS program port
    - Manual GPS settings under GoogleMaps, with COM7 and 4800 Baud rate

Someone posted in another thread that they got it to work with the default settings.

Have you had any luck with TomTom or other GPS apps?

I have never had any internal GPS system work with Google Maps, without setting it manually.

Your settings look correct, maybe "Maps" is in the background hogging the port.

I am going to try Garmin XT in a little while, but I do have Pocket Navigator working with GPS, no problems, so I suspect Garmin XT to be the same.

I thought with TomTom, you had to use:

    other NMEA GPS
    9600 GPS-baudrate

Set up the com ports that show up within GPS manager within TomTom (v6) but (v7) might be better. My SD card comes in tomorrow... hopefully.
