I can't believe that the software will not support win 2000. I hope it is a type-o in the manual.

What about 64 bit support for Vista? Drivers?

    Vista is supported.

Why would Palm support something that's ancient and Microsoft won't even support?

"I can't believe I can't take my Model T down to the dealership and have them fix it!"

I was specifically asking about the 64 bit Vista. The 755p to this day has no USB driver for the Vista 64 bit OS. Hence no hotsync. Only rigged up BT.

The 800w is Windows Mobile device, ergo it uses MS ActiveSync for the desktop.

Whatever MS supports in ActiveSync, the 800w will support as it is no different than any other WM device.

Thanks guys, I am sorry. I was so pissed at the fact that the 755p has no driver from palm to HS.
So I take it that the activesync will work with their own(MS) XP64/Vista64.

    It should, yes.

And, I think Ebag333 was referring to Windows 2000, not your Vista question. That's the "Model T". Your 64 bit Vista is... maybe a new FJ Cruiser? (Got something under the hood, looks different from the other cars, and nobody is quite sure what to do with it.)

Again thanks. Now I can go to bed.

What planet are you from? Windows 2000 is supported by ms. I have the latest and greatest activesync running with my 700wx.

Hey, it is my company’s computer.

Oh, your analogy sucks...model T, FIX IT?

Thatís what I thought. So 2000 should not be a problem? Maybe it is the palm proprietary software that is the issue?

    B&W700guy,

Yeah...if AS supports it, it should work.

Im not aware of any Palm tweaks that would make an exception to that at all.

Then why would palm put in the manual XP minimum? I have Active sync 4.5 running on 2000. Isnít that the latest for XP and previous os?

At this point 2000 users are pretty few, so probably more oversight than incompatiblilty.

I wouldn't loose sleep over it.

I agree...just a knee jerk reaction. But there are still lots in the business world .

    That was funny...

2k will cease updates and such in June or July 2010 (forget which one)... my "core" products support win 2k but I don't have it listed since "technically" I don't support it. Some outside products that I use don't support win 2k anymore... they are bundled with my products. That might be the issue here....

Vista 64 with tons of ram is "it" right now...
