Ok so i want to be able to get on my EVDO data package but telus uses an A-Key/AAA-key

its failing authentication because the akey is not the same as my HTC i cloned from.

    so question is.

How and where would i extract the Akey from on my HTC hand set?

    Have you tried ##akey# yet?

yes it just asks me to imput new Akey.

but i need ot know my HTC akey first.

i can also imput a key in ##DATA

I don't think ##data# is for your akey.

Can't you call and ask for your akey? I thought akey's were carrier specific, not phone specific.

maybe i have a few chicks on the inside at telus :P (thank god i am half good looking) so im going to go get my MSL for my htc and the A key

in ##DATA its called the HA password??

but my EVDO debug clearly shows an A-key/AAA Auth fail.

My HTC refers to this as the AN/AAA key

HA pasword is your carriers password for data. It's not your AKEY.

either way its working now that i got it to do a prl update correctly.

There's no akey on telus/bell (akey is only used for voice/1x)

for EVDO/HDR, use phone#(msid?)@mb.telusmobility.com, password is your ESN in decimal (11 numbers)

I don't think Telus uses MIP anymore, while Bell still does.
