I agree with that... no one else I know visits a "cell phone" of any kind forum... lol Many have treos, htc, or whatever....

Actually, most people I know don't even understand the history behind palm.... they mostly like "the keys on front instead of the slider thing."

Or a guy at their job walked up to them and said, "This is your phone, don't damage it." They don't care for Treos... it is tied to their job. lol

Most that I know don't the power of a treo... I don't think they care...

We are all fan boys & girls on this forum (and ones like it).

    I don't mind though... lol

The 700wx was 649.99 full retail, trust me I know because I paid $702 after taxes lol. I'm betting it will be the same price as the Mogul when it came out.

    You got ripped!

No way would I had paid that much.

Matter of fact, my 700wx cost $299 (with everything) but I received $450 back in rebates.

I would never in my life pay that much for a phone... I can think of better things to do with 7 Benjamins.

Plus, there will always be ways to get a phone at a discount....

Haha yeah true I could have waited to get it with rebates but I just happened to be at the mall the day before it was released, went into the Sprint store and the guy had one left out of the three they received so I just bought it on the spot. I wasn't really trying to wait any longer haha.

I would not buy from anyone. I would just get from Sprint. Because I want to pay the $7 insurance on it. I wonder if they will charge more on the 800w.

It doesn't matter who you buy it from, anytime you do an ESN swap the 30 day window for adding the $7 insurance opens up. Then you just tell the CSR who does your ESN swap to add that on.

It would be interesting to see if insurance opens up now that sprint users can do the swaps online....

That remains to be seen. But, if I wanted to add insurance I'd swap over the phone.

True... guess I'm still stuck on verizon....

If you swapped online, it was free... if you swapped over the phone, you had to pay.

I'm still looking for a cheap sprint phone so I'll have something to switch... lol

Say again? You can buy a phone from anybody and pay Sprint $7 for the monthly insurance?

About 17 months ago I bought my Treo 700wx off ebay. when I called *2 and did an ESN swap I asked the rep to add the $7/mth insurance and she did so, no questions asked.

Recently I posted a question over at sprintusers.com asking if that would still work and the answer was "Yes", the system is still setup so that anytime you activate a phone on your account the 30 window for adding insurance opens. The system seems to not differentiate between new and used phones.

Yes, you can add the insurance after any ESN swap. In fact, they even ask me every time I do one. I haven't done one in almost a year, but I used to swap phones all the time before I got the Treo, and even though I swapped to the same a900 about 10 times, they always asked me if I wanted to add the insurance.

I might actually get insurance for my 800. I used to have it, but have gone without for a while.

It doesn't have anything to do with forums. i just think 499 or so seems right.
  15. #35
It almost certainly will be around $599, perhaps $649. Most PDA phones seem to debut in that price range, and thats the trend for Treos as well. The 700wx was $649, so I don't see the new one being significantly less than that. I'm thinking Sprint will sell it for $349ish after all the discounts and rebates and such.
