Palm Treo 750 WM6, very new user still feeling my way around.

I have searched the Treo and the WWW and this Forum but can't find how to give Voice Mail a distinctive ring tone/sound, I'm used to a Nokia that has a definite persistent tone when voice mail is received.

Can the standard tone be changed if so can some kind soul step me through the process.

Thanks in advance for any help.

To assign a sound for voicemail go to Start>Settings>Sounds&Notifications>Notifications_tab and select the event "Phone: Voice mail" then assign a tone.

If you want persistent reminders, you need a program like TreoAlert. Follow the "favorite software picks" link in my signature to get it.

Fastlerner, thanks, you're the font of all knowledge, I won't try to download from slicktools at this stage 'till I get the handle on the basics, just having a different sound from the standard will do the job for the moment.
