Which is better: Treo 750 Threaded SMS or Standard WM6.1 Threaded SMS?
  2. #2
For me, it's the standard 750 threaded SMS. Mainly because WM6.1 isn't available on the 750.

Wait? 6.1 makes threaded SMS a standard? So any WM 6.1 device now has threaded SMS?

    Is there a difference?

Threaded SMS under WM6 seems to work just fine.

Who do u think invented the "concept" of threaded SMS? Palm did! I prefer the 750 threaded SMS, is resembles the Palm OS' SMS appl from Palm as well.

Okay, let me ask that another way. What is the difference?

I'm not familiar with threaded SMS in either WM6.1 or Palm OS.

How does the 6.1 SMS differ from what we're seeing under 6.0?

Palm version is better IMO because it has smileys, and a slightly friendlier interface. Just slightly.

The 6.1 version is incorporated into outlook though, so there's only 1 today plugin which is a little nicer. I still prefer the Palm app

FYI: The WM6 version has smileys too.

I love the threaded sms, I even purchased extreme text for 700wx which by the suck, but I miss the threaded messaging from my 700p.

No difference actually as the whole thing was ported from Palm.

Reading my latest issue of Smartphone and PocketPC magazine, they mention that a WM6.1 upgade has been announced for the Treo750. I'm not sure if that's correct. I hadn't heard any announcement.
But if they do, I wonder which app they'll go with. Keep the Palm version (likely) or go with the sgandard WM version?

Well, there are some smileys in a folder of my Treo Pro (with WM 6.1),but cannot figure out how to get them to be used. AND I do not want to type a smiley out...might send the wrong one in error if I typed too fast or without thinking!
