Need help desperate!

Phone: Palm Treo wm5 ppc.

Created an sms message for a quick note of important data. Closed it and it says do you want to save? Yes. Ok saved my note. Later bring it back up, but decide not to do anything with it. Do you want to save? I say "no", figuring I might have edited it. However, wm5/outlook/sms then DELETES the message entirely. Crap.

I think the data may still be on the system somewhere. Either in TFAT (any way to scan the entire internal disk?) or in cemail.vol. But cannot do crap with cemail.vol it's always in use by some process. I created a \Windows\StartUp\cpy.lnk pointing to a mortscript but can't get it to work.

Script Name: \cpy.mortrun

errorlevel("warn")
message ("redy to rename")
rename ("\cemail.vol", "\cemail2.vol")
message ("renamed")

On reboot (take battery out) I get the following message:

The file cpy cannot be opened. Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or one of its components cannot be found. You might need to reinstall or restore this file.

Any help much appreciated.
