I actually miss my Sanyo M1 because of Sprint TV. NFL Mobile was great to.

Is there no hack by now?

The Touch has it and its a Windows Mobile device.

Actually, PPCGeeks had a working "work around" for the Sprint TV. But once we all got to liking it, Sprint locked it down per device type, meaning, no luck for us.

    Them bastages..

It is really amazing that we have these expensive devices and we can't use SprinTv and MMS messaging. Yet, if I get one of the "free" phones by signing a contract, I get all the toys and more.

Why would they lock it down for the 700WX and not the 700P?

I agree, we pay big money and less features than some dumb phones. The Sprint Nascar mobile app. is another one that is locked out of the 700Wx and P.

I think unless 700wx users do some major complaining, it'll never work for us. at ppc geeks they got it working for the mogul, but they have a strong backing of mogul users and I'm sure they were all complaining to sprint reps. I've tried their hack on 700wx and no luck.

Was it because of the difference from WM5 to WM6?
Thanks any new info is greatly apprecieted.

I'm not sure if its a wm5/6 issue or not. what I've read in the mogul threads is that sprinttv works on the latest sprint update for the mogul and I'm pretty sure sprint did not update them from wm5 to 6. so I'm assuming its not that. like it was stated before its device specific and sprint is blocking the wx for whatever reasons. as far as using anything from 700p I'm pretty sure that's a no go only because its a different os. palm apps won't run on wm devices, as simple as that. however maybe an emulator would work... hmmm... the question is how do you extract sprinttv from a palm device...

if I remember correctly the 700p had sprint tv on the install cd. I will check later as I still have the cd from when they took my dead 700p and gave me just a referb WX.

When I was burning Helmi Windows Mobile 6.1 custom ROM to my PPC-6700 I noticed on the menu list there was a check box for Sprint TV with the PPC-6800 (Mogul). Maybe it is a WM6 program. With that said I guess it will never work with a 700w or wx.

I have the origanal install cd from my 700P. It has the PRC file on it for Mobi TV. See if you can convert this to WM5.

Just got off the phone with MobiTV. The service does work with the 700WX but Sprint chooses not to offer it! You can subscribe through Handango for $9.99 a month.

This really ticks me off as I already pay the surcharge on my plan from when I had the 700p and Sprint won't give it to me on the 700WX.

most of the links have been taken down already, however if you can find one, there was a mobitv "hack" on ppcgeeks that deleted the reg key so that the 3 day trial would never end. worked like a charm. the things I noticed... mobitv doesn't offer all the chanels that sprinttv had. no vh1, mtv, abc line up. I loved watching all the abc shows off sprinttv and those were never offered on mobitv. I guess some chanels are better than none.

    edit:
did I mention sprinttv had vh1 pop up videos... boy I miss that. mobitv just pales in comparison.

sprint just chooses to offer different content, but the service is still MobiTV.
Like I said before, what makes me upset is Sprint is saying it is will not work on the 700wx, when reality is they don't want us to have it.

The file I posted is the sprint TV file from the 700p install CD.
