Are you using the Treo headset that came with the phone, or just plugging in regular headphones with a generic adapter?

Every phone jack is different and if you're using an adapter, you need to make sure it's for the Treo specifically.

LOL I'm using shure headphones made for the Treo, no adapter needed.

I am assuming the headset jack never got fixed.

Funny, I also use the SHURE headphones made for the Treo750 only when traveling. I have had similar problems as you, but usually can resolve these with a combination or resets, plugging and unplugging, etc.

I don't know exactly what causes this.

I have the same problems using the adapter from Palm. I've had a Treo 650, 680, and 750 and the headset jacks are all crap.

Funny thing is, I have never had a problem like this before.
I bought a refurbished 750 and I am wondering if that is the issue. I would have thought, that ATT or Palm would have gone through the device to make it work properly?!!! werid

there may be an impedane or some other "smart" electronics issue. by the way radio shack sells a $4 adapter 2 pin to std stereo plug. make sure you get the rigid 3 pin and not the $10 4pin model on a wire that doesn't work for the same reason.

I don't think so. These headphones have worked with the 650,680 and 750 one day. I just ordered a replacment.

Explain what you mean a "smart" electronics issue?!

Got it, I plugged my stock Palm Hybrid headphones in and then the Shures. Now it works!!!! Werid.

"smart electronics" switching relies on more than just open/closed electrical contacts to determine function. if some other characteristic isn't right like voltage, logic or impedance you won't get the result expected. similar to "upity" electronics

Arrggghhh, I just got my replacement Treo 750 and the headphones don't work. They work with my Trei 680 but not the 750. I just bought some Seidio pros (they suck BTW) and they work fine. I think I will call Shure for a replacment.

I have had 2 replacement headphone and I am on my 3rd waiting for them to be delivered and I am just wondering if anyone else has this combo?

I can't get my i3c-t Shure headphones to work with the 750. I mean that no sound comes out at all. They have worked fine with the 650 and 680.
    Any suggestions?
