I am watching the stream of the Gates CES Keynote, and I swear I saw the 800w in the background of one of the opening slides. Will grab a screenshot if I see it again.

Looks good to me... I don't really care what it looks like... long as it works like my 700wx (stable) and has a bit more features... I'll be sold.....

If you saw my first wife, you'd realize I don't go for looks... so I am just as sold if it has what they say it has (wifi, gps, more ram/rom, 320x320).

EDIT: I think the reason I don't like it much is because the screen isn't flush with the plastic housing, that really detracts from using my finger effectively on the screen.

Took the words right out of mouth. I do hope the screen & bluetooth is much improved.

Maybe, maybe not. The 'Drucker' GSM version on the Vodaphone roadmap says "flush screen".

Its not the sexiest treo you're going to see, but i'll at least give palm credit IF they in fact pack this one with gps, wifi, bt 2.0, 320x320 screen, 256 mb ram, and a comfortable keyboard for regular data input.

THAT package would make for a very nice upgrade, in spite of the fact that it might not be the most eye catching design.

    Let's see how this goes....

Watching the feed right now... it was not shown JUST briefly... it was shown for at least a whole minute... a big image at that... and it represented the windows mobile phones in the slide along with a laptop, a PC, and i forget what else

Do you remember the 1st picture of Centro? The final product will be different from this one.

Well, this one is finally getting its due, but I'm not sure how it is that it was posted first in October

We posted this back in July, right after the Gandolf/Centro.

It's the same device, as stated then, it has Wifi and GPS. Have no idea why it was knocked off the 07 Q4 release, but I still believe Sprint will be the first to offer it.

Make the whole thing black and it'll be a better looking device. It also appears to be decently thin.

Well, our CTIA 2008: Bill Gates Keynote LiveBlog didn't go exactly as planned -- a pox upon batteries and their weakness! There wasn't, sadly, any hugely significant bits of *official* Windows Mobile news - but there was an *unofficial* piece of Windows Mobile news. The device at right appeared on the gigantic screen for a couple minutes during the keynote.

If the device at right isn't the spittin' image of the Treo 800w, then we don't know much about spittin' or images. Unfortunately, we don't have any details beyond what we can glean from the image:

    - It will be offered in white (yeah, we know, duh)
    - It will feature Windows Mobile 6 (6.1? Hard to say, have we seen any 6.1 devices with touchscreens yet?)
    - WiFi **confirmed** (2nd line down)

Are there any hints for people looking for a release date - If you believe the fuzzy “January 23, 2007” (or maybe 22) at the top has any relevance, it might. Somehow we doubt even *Palm* would have missed a release date by a full year. In any case, WMExperts is giving away the 800w to one of the lucky people who guess the release date - go check that out!

You gonna give us a hint as to which thread it's in? (Edit: I see it's on the main front page, sorry, I go straight to the forums)

Me too! After having that Mogul for a few weeks, I really loved the operating system but missed the one handedness of the treo. This would be the best of both worlds, and, I think it looks great too.

Now, if it will have Treobble, it will be the best.

    Kyocera 6035 > Kyocera 7135 > Treo 600 > Treo 650. All Verizon. Sprint Treo 755p, HTC Mogul & Centro
Unlocked Treo 680 for trips outside Sprint's areas

I'm liking the looks of the 800w--the soft key buttons are interesting, being flush with the device.

And not to take credit since I ed about it before lol, but looks like they added back the Right Shift key which was missing in the original mockup. Yay--that missing key drives me nuts on the Centro.
