    Hey Everyone,

I am looking to transfer my address book from my LG8300 phone to my Treo 700wx. Does anyone know of software (free if possible) that will let me accomplish the transfer?

I do know about bitpim.org, but from what I know the Palm Treo 700wx is not supported.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks in advance!

    Thanks for the fast reply.

For the LG 8300 through VZW I do know about the free synch service and use same. What I need to do is somehow transfer the numbers that are on the LG 8300 to my Palm Treo 700wx. Not sure how to do this.

If you use VZW wireless sync on your LG, then using the wireless sync on your Treo will sync your contacts over automatically. You just need to set up the service on the Treo using the information you used to set up the service on your LG. Does this make sense?

Hello and thanks for the reply,

I forgot to mention that the LG is with Verizon and the Treo 700wx is with Sprint.

i would use ms outlook or outlook express. activesync is free. outlook express is free. im sure the LG comes with some kind of sync cable. whalla! plus, no data usage involved when syncing. i know wireless sync could take for ever depending on your # of contacts, plus it doesnt always obey you. lol. as in do not sync notes or to do list, but sync contacts and addresses.

The best solution I can give you is extract the contact list from your 8300 and change it to a csv format. Then you will import the csv file into outlooks address book. Finally you will run activesync on your 700. This is how I did my vx8300 to the 700w. Fortunately I used backup assistant on the 8300 so I was able to get my contact list and put it into a csv format. Incase you dont know csv means comma seperated value. You can read up on it in Microsoft Excel Help.

    Hey there.

Thanks for responding to my post

Can you please tell me what program I need to use in order to extract / save your phone numbers into CSV format from your LG 8300?

Once I figure out a way to get the numbers / contacts from the LG into CSV, I should be cool from there...

Thanks so much for the help!

You'll have to extract you contacts with bitpim. Then you need to figure out how to open the file and transfer it to Excel then save it as a csv file. Sorry but all I know about bitpim is what I just read online. I can try tonight with my wifes 8300 and see what I can work out.

I'm not familiar with that model but some of the LG's will bluetooth the entire address book....I had to do this with a Sanyo M1 to a 700wx. Good luck!!
