    What is this about?

I can clearly read the CINGULAR logo on top of my screen, and I made sure the s/n was right.

How many others are getting this issue?

CAN SOMEONE PLEASE upload the updater file and spread the wealth? Palm Inc is closed for business till tomorrow

EDIT: Here are some options to rectify the problem! Thanks everyone for the quick, team effort

    1. Download the updater exe: http://downloads.palm.com/Treo750_2_...topUpdater.zip

    2. Download the SD Card method (for those who's device "does not qualify"):
    http://downloads.palm.com/Treo750_2_..._SDUpdater.zip

    3. For those who like to see for themselves, but use up more of your precious time, go through Palm Chat and they will give you a dummy serial number. Here's the link for that:
    http://www.palm.com/us/support/help/chat.html

    Again, thanks everyone who helped!

Mine is also not recognizing the serial number. I need the SD version...anyone got a direct link to the SD download?

    remove youSd card

I got the same message (invalid serial number) and called Palm. First they gave me a dummy serial number to try. The system informed me was already used.
The tech then said to call back in 24 hours because they felt there were problems in the system that were generating the "invalid" messages.

Removing the SD card has nothing to do with this problem.

But, if someone could just upload the file to rapidshare or something we don't have to wait!

On page 2 or 3 of the "Any Minute Now" thread (sorry, too tired to find it and link it), there's a direct link to the updater file - hosted by Palm, no serial number check. Download it, unzip it, run it, and update.

Try "WM6 for ATT Treo 750: Any Minute Now" page number 5, post number 98. Click on the link in the quote. That worked for me and I'm running WM6 without a problem.

I did the "Live Chat" and got the file (thanks to whoever posted the link) but here is the link mentioned above:

If you get the SDUpdater file, you'll need to open the password entry (but leave it blank) in order to unzip the file. Also be sure to go to the Palm site to get teh instructions. They seem to be different than those we used for the leaked ROM.

This link doesn't seem to work for me so I modified the file name in the desktop updater with the SDUpdater and here you go

    One question .....
If our WM6 download is not associated with our device's serial number isn't that a warranty issue in future?

I got the same s-it...Mine's one of the earliest ones, and Cingular-branded of course. I don't want that copy, but rather my OWN. WTF???

When you "pass" the serial number "test," you're directed to the same link, the same zip file, the same installer as everyone else. Of course, you can skip the test by going directly to the link provided in the "any minute" thread...

I had the S/N invalid message, and used the posted link from above. Works fine.

Wanted to give everyone a quick update that the issue some people experienced when trying to valiate their device serial number has been resolved. They can visit the download page (http://www.palm.com/us/support/downl...pdate/att.html) and go through the process of validating their device serial number to install the WinMo 6 update to their AT&T/Cingular Treo 750.

ffairdi1 - Thanks for the catch. You did exactly what I did to make it work for me. I had posted it in another thread (and checked to make sure it worked). For the post in this thread I just copied the other post which appears to have messed up the URL. And I didn't check it out.
