Just upgraded from a 650 to the ATT 750. I've noticed that as i'm using the screen, the lighted QWERTY goes out. On my 650 it was active as long as the screen was active. Where can i change this at?

Hope this is what you are looking for: Start; Setting; System; Backlight

I took the same upgrade also, the os takes some getting used to.
    enjoy

Assuming WM6, the QWERTY Light default timeout is 10 seconds and that wasn't long enough for me.

Abbreviations: HKCU is Current User and HKLM is Local Machine

    QWERTY Light Timeout:
    HKCU\Control Panel\Backlight\QKeyLedTimeout
    Default 10 Decimal
Try 20 Decimal to keep it lit for 20 seconds or whatever time you like.

    QWERTY Light Brightness:
    HKCU\Control Panel\Backlight\QKeyLedBrightness
    Default 4 Decimal
Try 1 Decimal to save some power since it will be lighted longer

And while your in there adjusting registry settings, if you find that the End Call Key is a little too touchy and you are accidentally turning the phone off, try bumping up the press and hold timer.

    Keyboard Press and Hold Delay:
    HKLM\HARDWARE\DEVICEMAP\KEYBD\PressAndHoldDelay
    Default 800 Decimal
Try 2000 Decimal. You'll have about a 5 second hold timer on your keyboard.

Did you download and install a Registry Editor?
What Reigstry Editor did you get?

When you open the Registry Editor, and follow the paths, what keys are actually listed? There are likely a dozen or more entires and I reference just a few of them.

The 700 is not a WM device.

As far as I know, the 700w/wx is of course a WM device.

I have never used or worked with a 700wx but it is possible that the 700wx handles these settings elsewhere in the registry. Hopefully someone will chime in on your other thread. If I find some information, I'll post it on both threads...

Okay, this seems pretty simple, but I have no idea how to get into the areas where the "HKCU\Control Panel\Backlight\QKeyLedTimeout" code is listed. I am attempting to use the Resco editor. Any help is appreciated.

    HKey_Current_User\Control Panel\Backlight\QKeyLedTimeout

I still don't know where to look. I understand that the cu is current user, but where is the "h key"?

did you install the registry portion of the program?
  18. #18
Now that is an interesting question. I installed the file titled "rescoexplorer_p.arm"

Now, I am sure that helps you bunches. Let me do a double take on the resco download.
  19. #19
you didnt install it then...you need registryen_p.arm.cab
