Under the Today screen settings it has an option box for "Today Timeout" then it has a drop down box to select different hour incriments. What I'd like to know is, what in the heck is this for? I can't find any info and when I change it I don't notice anything. Thanks.

    Same here. What is that?

Its sets the idle time before the device automatically returns to the today screen from whatever app its currently in, e.g.

You last looked at Internet Explorer. If your today timeout is set to one hour, if you started your device an hour later you will be looking at your today screen, not at pocket IE.

I think its a nice feature, but it should allow a lot less than one hour e.g. 10 minutes, that way, near every time you are not actively using your phone you would be looking at the today screen.

I believe this "Today Timeout" setting is ideally intended to automatically return the screen to the Today view after the designated period of time (rather than leaving the screen view in the last Application used). HOWEVER, for the Treo 750, the Red Power button ALWAYS returns the screen to the Today View. As a result, any specific setting for "Today Timeout" has no consequence on a Treo 750.

Its hard for me to believe that this behavior for the Treo 750 is acceptable to most people, but I've not yet seen any Hacks/fixes/software to address this issue.

U can just hit option + end key and the screen will be locked and switched off after a while. Next time u are unlocking ur treo u will find the last app on top, I do use this workaround often. In fact the only difference is that u will have to hit 2 keys instead of 1.
